Takes deposit to get you a loan and dont refund

Dealt with this man Ebrahim Gasant of 17 Henley Road, Lotus River. Address doesn't look legitimate. I was referred to him by an Old Mutual Consultant Allistair as I couldn't get a loan with them. He promised he would be able to get me a loan of R150000 to pay all my accounts but I needed to pay R2500 upfront which I did. And I signed that if I don't get the loan I will be refunded. He lied and lied and kept saying the money has been paid but in the end he threatened that he also has lawyers there's nothing I cannot do. He did not refund me. His cell nr and landline is no longer working. I never him but I trusted the fact that I got the details from an Old Mutual Consultant. I went back to him, and he told me that Ebrahim is unreliable I should open a case at the police.
