Booked in Hard Drive many months ago... with no reply back. It cost me R4999 to book it in, no Data Recovery was done and all the money gone... It almost like a scam. Many other companies say: "No recovery, No Charge" but not this one... Very Small Text: ** Non refundable fee Stay away!

I'm sure Emma from ECHO Data Recovery Solutions, Randparkridge is good with what she does, but she has ZERO client skills & I had a very bad experience. The first time I booked my hard drive in she was able to recover the data within a month & I was very grateful. I was quoted beforehand & i paid accordingly. The second time I booked my hard drive in it was just for a format (data was to be removed, hard drive was to be formatted from Mac to Windows compatible, and data replaced). I was not quoted for this work. It was dropped 5 Dec. 10 Dec I sent a message - no reply. 31 January, after holiday & moving, I sent a message - no reply. 8 Feb I sent a message - no reply. By this time I was completely freaked out because my whole entire life was on that hard drive. I drove to her parent's house where she works from to see if I could get hold of her. Her father advised me that she had moved but that he would find out for me. The following day I drove back to her parent's house, her father confirmed that she does in fact still have my hard drive. 10 Feb I sent a message -AT LAST I received a reply that my hard drive would be dropped off at my house. 12 Feb - the hard drive was delivered to me & I was not charged. Upon inspection I found that the hard drive was EMPTY, my data had not been replaced. I did not sleep a wink that night in fear of having lost all my data. In an unfriendly manner I was asked to drop my hard drive off at her parent's house again which I did on 14 Feb. On 19 Feb I messaged - she would advise when the hard drive could be collected but I had to settle an invoice. Now suddenly there was an invoice?! I asked for a few days extension on the invoice payment which was granted. I was advised to collect on 20 Feb. Upon arrival there was no-one home. By this time I was agitated & asked if the hard drive could please be delivered to me as I arrived to an empty house & have not had my hard drive since 5 Dec!!! My payment extension was immediately revoked & access to my hard drive was refused until I could make payment on the 25th for the un-quoted for random payment of R1 500!?!? Emma was ruthless in the way she went about this. There were NO apologies, NO admission of any wrongdoing. There was NO other way of contacting her except on Whatsapp. My phone calls did not go through to her & emails bounced back. She speaks about different offices & staff, but the only person one ever knows about is herself & invoices that come from Angelique at accounts, which lead one to believe that it is a one-man-show. This experience of being reliant on someone else for my hard drive & data was positively one of the most stressful times of my life. The biggest mistake I made was to not back up my own data. The customer care & treatment received from her - totally unacceptable. I will never ever use Echo Data Recovery Solutions EVER again. http://www.echotest.co.za/about-us.html
