Edenvale Hospital
Based on recent customer reviews, Edenvale Hospital presents a deeply divided patient experience. Positive feedback highlights specific compassionate staff members such as Sister Tisetso, Rochelle Lebone, and Doctor Msibi, alongside consistently praised security personnel. However, the majority of reviews describe alarming concerns including extremely long waiting times, rude and neglectful nursing staff, poor hygiene conditions, and a tragic case involving an undisclosed bedsore that contributed to a patient's death. Administrative processes, including file access and discharge procedures, are cited as frustrating and opaque.

I would like to thank Sister Tisetso from the ANC department. You are an amazing soul and i appreciate the manner in which you treat the pregnant ladies. The service we received on the 4th of December from you was SPLENDID and the lady who was working with you who was located in the room after yours. Please keep up the good work and a lot of nurses can learn a lot from you and learn to give more kindness to the people of SA. You are giving nurses a new name, please keep up the god work. You are highly appreciated.

This facility is pathetic. 2 weeks back I came here with severe kidney pain after my GP took a scan to reveal my left kidney definitely have a blockage because of the enlargement. I can't afford more scans an x-rays or whatever tests. I had to wait until today to do the scan. I was third in line but now they send me back to open a new file witch will take me the entire day.

Edenvale hospital used to be so good back in 2017 - the staff was helpful and friendly, the maternity ward was wonderful, the antenatal facility was on point. Today I was introduced to a new Edenvale Hospital after rushing someone to casualty. The staff is so arrogant - the only people who are friendly and helpful are the security guards. At the casualty; a male nurse was shouting at a woman who was giving birth in a room and it also sounded as if he was hitting her because she had **** about being pregnant and ended up giving there. The female nurses at the desk are so undermining and super rude that they need to be taught office etiquette. I don’t know who’s heading that hospital now but wow, they’re doing a bad job when it comes to hiring their nurses.

My mother was admitted to Edenvale hospital on the 19th of May 2025 because of severe anemia and bibasal crackles and she was referred to by the doctor. She was then discharged on the 30th of June. On the same day when we arrived home, we noticed the bedsore on her buttocks was already severe, and the nurses and the doctors did not mention it or even add that on her hospital file. We phoned the doctor (DR Kamba) and he said we must take her back to the hospital on Monday the 23rd of June. However, he said we can go to the hospital the next day to get the staff to dress the wound (20th May). I went the next day to collect the wounding dressing staff, and it was a whole lot of things, and I was giving training on how to dress the BEDSORE wound. On Monday the 23rd we took mama back to Edenvale and the wound was bad, it was smelling, and it had white layers and some holes on the sides. We asked the doctor why this was not disclosed with the family upon discharging her and why we were not provided with the dressing equipment. The doctor told us that he WAS NEVER INFORMED BY THE NURSES. The wound became worse, it created a big hole now in her buttocks it was uncontrollable, we logged a complaint with the hospital ( Ref: 1YZ-QUI-2AT). My mother died in hospital on the 4th of July because of the Bedsore. Even today we did not receive any feedback from EDENVALE HOSPITAL, THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US HER FILE , I WAS SENT FROM PILLAR TO POST WHEN I REQUESTED FOR HER FILE.

Pathetic service. Only when they see the patients getting agitated then they wake up to attend. Four people sitting for 3 hours and one came out to attend or ask us what's the problem. Disgraceful
