Just some significant concerns regarding my 8kVA Sunsynk system that was installed at the beginning of 2025. Despite not having an electrician on site during the installation, I received a Certificate of Compliance (CoC).
Last month, I began experiencing issues with the system frequently switching between Eskom and solar power. In response, I engaged both the municipal electrician and a private electrician to assess the situation. To our shock, we discovered that all the breakers were connected incorrectly—AC breakers were on the DC side, and DC breakers were on the AC side. Additionally, 6mm wiring was used instead of the required 10mm, and there was no current transformer (CT) device installed.
I contacted Endloadshedding.com for assistance, but I have yet to receive a response.
The municipal electrician raised an important question: how was a CoC issued when no electrician was present during the installation? Even if there had been one, it is alarming to note that a CoC could be granted considering these serious faults.
I strongly advise exercising caution when dealing with this non-compliant company. Furthermore, an investigation into this matter is underway by Sunsynk, and I have been assured that if it is found that the installation did not adhere to Sunsynk standards, the company will be removed from their approved installer list.
