It has been over a week since I returned the car which was only for one day rental anyway. When I call I speak to different people who says different things. One said it will take 3 to 7 days, the other one said 7 to 21 days and now I am being told that it might be a full month. When I asked what is the status on my deposit refund and what cause the delay they said they see the status of the refund😳 Do not waste your time with this car rental company! They seem to not know what they are doing. I just hope I eventually get my money back!!

Hi. I am having the worst service from a car rental service at Firefly. I booked a car on the 5 April was instructed to collect on the 6April2022. I arrived on the front desk at OR Rambo & a coloured guy at the front desk started assisting me. He told me that I must pay a down payment of R14000 & I told him I didn't understand that part I thought it was talking about insurance as this is the first time I am hiring a car. I decided to cancel the rental with him & he told me that it's cancelled & I will receive the refund within 7 to 14 working days. Today 19April I decided to enquire from their head office & I was told that I won't get the refund because I was marked as a No-show for my bookings. I spoke to the Firefly manager about this & she said she is making investigations with the camera to check then she dropped the phone before I asked her the Turn Around Time. Another lady called from OR Tambo advicing that I won't get the refund because I didn't claim with 48hours which is mentioned in the Ts & C's but I went to collect the car with a 24hoyr time frame & cancelled within 24hours. I was told to wait for the coloured guy who was assisting me to come back from leave in order to be assisted, I refused to accept that as the whole company does not depend on 1 individual who is absent from work because of leave. I still continue to demand my refund as I followed the correct procedures & I showed up at the Airport to collect but cancelled because of not understanding the down payment story. This is pure day light robbery. There's no sense of accountability, nobody is taking the blame, was told I didn't show up when I did. I still had to follow up after nobody called me, managers dropping the call on customers, when I called back nobody picks up. I want my refund as discussed by the person who assisted me. On collection of vehicle we were asked to pay R14000 deposit, we would never have hired if we knew this. Do not have R14000. Lady said its in the t's and c's. Hidden away so you know nothing when they take your money. We tried every channel to try cancel, phone, live chat whatsapp, email. We managed to get a car from Eurocar for R1000 LESS with only R4000 deposit. Firefly Hertz refusing to refund our R3400 for service they didn't provide. Consultant laughed at us. Please avoid this Company.

I advised the lady at the counter that my daughter was landing on a flight in an hour and I am then Going to drive the car out at about 8 pm . I returned the car at 8.15 pm two days later and paid for 2 days . I refuelled the car and then due to me being 15 min later they billed me R591 as a penalty . The lady at the counter then tells me that lisha is the manager and is now off so they can’t help me. I can call tomorrow if I like . I have never ever experienced such pathetic service and took a R14500 hold on my credit card . Abs same will be released in 21days time

Rented a car in June 2021. Till today haven't received my deposit. I have called more than 8 times for a week. No body answers the phone. I strongly regret using their services. If you think of using them please reconsider another alternative.

My wife is Goodman-Devilliers As mentioned: 1. Suggest you relook your PL and IS (false 20 working "investigation policy") 2. Your merchant transacted by1 click (i.e 0.5 seconds) for the reservation secures funds though expect patrons to wait 20 working days for you to rectify failure of service. 3. A rental of a vehicle (in any class) is NOT subject to a credit, criminal or insurance clearance. None of which my wife's details are relevant for the purpose and are general acceptable practice for data access. Hertz/Firefly antiquated internal policies are that which they are. Your excuse disguised as an explanation of insufficient funds is a complete fabrication. TRUST me that there are/were funds enough to buy the car let alone rent it. Its the principle, NOT the meager financial amount - Its the the precedence set and granted by ignorant people which will not fuss. I will deal with Hertz/Firefly civilly for the emotional distress caused to my wife and urge that you resolve this amicably. ZA545689040 (EC:B5S83M)

They accepted my booking, took my money for a holiday rental. I arrived there and they told me they can't give me my car because I have bad credit; a thorough insult from someone who took R2,5k from me. Some truly rubbish service. At this point they still have my money and I'm STILL careless. I had to change my holiday plans. I even asked for a regular at which point they refer me to a 'broker' website. They take people for a ride and are very condascending.

They accepted my booking, took my money for a holiday rental. I arrived there and they told me they can't give me my car because I have bad credit; a thorough insult from someone who took R2,5k from me. Some truly rubbish service. At this point they still have my money and I'm STILL careless. I had to change my holiday plans. I even asked for a regular at which point they refer me to a 'broker' website. They take people for a ride and are very condascending.
