I took my vehicle to NMI Ford Tygervalley on 16 March for a major service which cost me around R7,200. Initially, the service advisor (Brendon) was helpful and kept me updated.
However, when I collected my car, I immediately noticed water leaking from the windshield washer bottle area. I pointed it out on the spot and was told to monitor it as it could just be water from the wash due to the car being parked on an incline.
A few days later, I filled the washer bottle and the water leaked out immediately from the same place. I returned to the dealership and showed them again. I was told the issue would be escalated.
After receiving no feedback, I had to follow up myself. On my first call, I was told Brendon was unavailable. I called again later and was then told my number had been written down incorrectly. I was informed they were sourcing a replacement bottle and that I would be contacted.
It has now been over 4 weeks with no update.
I also pointed out on the day of collection that my wheel arch lining was loose, which raises further concerns about the quality of work done.
I expected the matter to be resolved timeously, which is why I did not escalate it immediately. Unfortunately, due to the lack of communication and no resolution, I have now escalated the matter to Ford South Africa.
Very disappointing experience. Paying a premium price at a dealership should come with professional service and accountability, not additional problems.
I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved.
