Absolutely Useless especially if you are South African. Unless you have been on the site for a long time and have done many tasks then only is it okay. However the biggest RED FLAG, I had somebody email for an Google Video interview only for them to request that I put my camera on but they will have there off. So complete violation of professional ethic as well as privacy. Oh yes, they also ask you to take the higher packages so you have access to more vacancies which you have to bid for to get it and there's a very good chance you will not get the job. So definitely will not recommend

Account Suspension After 48 Hours: $99 Fee Lost, Business Impact Severe Rating: 1/5 Stars (Abysmal) I am writing this review as an urgent warning to anyone considering purchasing a premium subscription on Freelancer.com. My experience highlights severe issues with their internal account verification and customer support processes, resulting in immediate financial loss and the collapse of new business opportunities. I decided to commit fully to the platform and upgraded to a premium annual subscription, paying the fee of $99 USD on [8/oct]. This was done to secure more bids and unlock features necessary to land serious client work. Tragically, just two days (48 hours) later, my account was abruptly suspended by the site administrators. I received no prior warning, no specific explanation of the violation, and no opportunity to rectify any issue before the suspension took effect. The financial fallout has been devastating and immediate: Lost Subscription Fee ($99): The platform immediately locked my account, making the $99 annual membership fee completely wasted. Since the suspension appears to be final and sudden, I have been unable to use the service I paid for, and given the circumstances, I doubt a refund will be processed easily. Lost Business Opportunities (Estimated $500): Crucially, the suspension occurred while I was in the process of finalizing contracts and bids with new clients. This sudden, unexplained closure effectively severed my contact with these customers, resulting in an estimated loss of at least $500 in immediate contract value and severely damaging my professional reputation on and off the platform. The core issue here is being allowed to purchase a high-cost service only to be locked out 48 hours later. This implies that either the initial verification process is deeply flawed, or the platform is intentionally processing payments before carrying out suspension checks. If you are a serious professional looking to invest in a platform, be aware that your account can be suspended without warning after you pay them. I have lost the subscription fee plus hundreds in potential earnings due to their aggressive and opaque administrative actions. Use caution and be prepared for potential immediate termination without recourse.

While i was completing my profile to start work on my freelancer account, being very excited. A notification was being sent by an agent from freelancer to Apply to Verify my account on freelancer and i jumped to the opportunity to get everything set up faster and activate my premier membership that will be $99 pm . To my surprise this application for this verification was also $99 . And a interview that i could not understand why at that point ,but made sense they wanted to make sure of your identity. NOW!!! that i realised i made the wrong choice there is no customer service or agent that can help me sort uit this misunderstanding. i have made many attempts to sort this out to get my refund and activate my premier membership, but still no assistance or support from Freelancer.

Freelancer.com is an absolute joke. They don’t care about helping freelancers succeed—they only care about squeezing every last cent out of you. Unless you pay for their overpriced marketing features, your profile barely gets seen. How does that even make sense? I'm here to make money, not constantly pay them just to exist on the platform! They force you to add your card details just to sign up, and then—without any warning—they start debiting your account. No reminders, no chance to cancel in time. And when you do try to cancel? Good luck. They make it near impossible to get out, burying the cancellation process under endless clicks and hoops to jump through. And let’s talk about their "verification" fees. They charge ridiculous amounts for things like ID verification—sometimes more than the actual jobs on the site even pay! So basically, they make money off freelancers, not by helping us get work, but by forcing us into their pay-to-play ****. Freelancer.com is nothing but a cash grab, preying on people who are just trying to earn an honest living. Stay far away unless you enjoy being *******, charged unfairly, and completely ignored unless you pay up.

I registered with Freelancer to try to do some admin work in my free time. To make some extra money for my family. I have great admin experience of 15 days. I app**** for a job and got the job. It all seemed legit. I sent my CV etc. The work was to type up 200 pages. I did that and I was meant to get paid $2200. When that time came, I was not paid. I contacted freelancer and they will not assist me. I spent 3 days way from my family doing this work. The company I worked for wont pay me and freelancer wont assist me. All they have done was stop this **** artist from posting jobs. I have never tried this site before and I was just trying to make extra money. If freelancer didn’t allow **** artists on their site this would of never happened to me. I am completely distraught. Freelancer will not even help and I trusted their site. I would suggest that no one ever uses them they have done big damage to me by allowing ****mers and they don’t care.

A lady by the name Jenny Jen Morgen registered my email with Freelancer.com, but not willing to give the password. She scammed me from R450 promising payment from homebasework.net after completing 30 days work. I would like to know what is her involvement with Freelancer.com. Her numbers 071 514 1257 and 079 073 8358

Freelancer.com does nothing to prevent scam artists from scamming their freelancers. You pay for 'bids' so that you can apply to jobs and when you do, they are ALWAYS scam artists. In the meanwhile, all those paid bids are getting chowed. Even when I asked Freelancer about how I can get my 'lost' bids back, they were very evasive. You're literally paying Freelancer.com so that you can get scammed. Very bad freelancing site!

Do not use this site. Of anyone loads money onto your profile you will not be able to withdraw it unless you send it back to person that made the deposit. Regardless if this person has a completley diffrent and location, you will need to send the money back. So bother doing work through this company because you will need to send it back anyway.
