I am a current Client of FML but I will definitely NOT recommend them to anyone. While the service from the Sales Team is good the "After Sales" service is **********. I purchased a Nissan NP200 from them in December of 2024. Upon delivery I discovered that the A/C does not work at all. This after I repeatedly stressed that an A/C is a pre requisite of mine. Early in January of 2025 this very Vehicle left me stranded in Parys Free State. This was less than a Month after I purchased the Bakkie. I phoned their "Road Side Assistance" and they came and tow this Vehicle in. And this is where things really became problematic for me. I pay an extra amount every Month for a Courtesy Vehicle should the need arise for whatever unforeseen reason. They delivered the Vehicle to me outside of Vanderbijlpark to my place of employment on the 14th of January. I had to pay them R1750.00 for that, which I did. From here on things just slipped backwards. I sat without a Vehicle for a few day's, and it seems that they could not find the problem with the Nissan NP200. When the Towing Vehicle arrived in Parys to collect the Bakkie I noticed that the man driving the Tow Vehicle was more than a little irritated. He told me he was not the regular driver but I don't know if it was this that got him annoyed. Anyway, I showed hiem a few other issues that I also picked up on the Bakkie in the meantime. One of this was an Engine Mounting Bolt that is stripped and does not tighten down at all. Also there is a Plastic Cover underneath the front Bumper that goes flapping away merrily as you drive. And then the Canopy had Doors where the Windows should be, which was not the problem. The problem is they could not lock or even latch down. I decided not to keep the Bakkie as I no longer trusted it. So I opted for an exchange Vehicle which is an benefit they offer. Upon my collecting the Vehicle, a Renault Sander Stepway, which I like very much by the way, I was slapped with a hefty bill of R 3126.25 to be exact. This was for the Tow In, and this I flatly refused to pay. After much deliberation and to and froing at their Offices in Bedfordview the amount was lowered to R868.45. This was on the 25th of January 2025, the day I collected the Renault. They also had the audacity to Bill me R100 for the wash of the Bakkie that left me stranded next to the road, which I also refused to pay, and for the Nissan Micra courtesy Vehicle, which I did pay. Strangely enough they had no problem in delivering me a dirty Vehicle the very same day. They did however offer to clean it quickly, but it was an offer I declined. because they knew for some 4-5 day's before the time that I was coming.
Strangely enough my woe's with FML did not end here. During the time I had the Courtesy Vehicle the Window Tinting on the back Window got damaged, and I reported this to them, as well as my accepting responsibility for that. Out of the Blue they Mailed me a Bill for a Rear Tire for this Courtesy Vehicle that they for some reason did not "NOTE" the day I took it back, but it only became apparent later on. This I also refused to pay. Upon my refusal They decided not to bill me for that after all, but Invoiced me R1099.99 for the Window Tinting. I asked them to provide me with a Photo with a Time Stamp to proof the Tinting was indeed replaced but they never responded to that, so I paid it anyway. When I took delivery of the Renault I noticed that the Tire's were worn all around, but especially in the front. This was actually recorded on the Checklist the day when I took delivery of the Car. So when the Tire debacle started I asked them if they're going to accommodate me with Tire's on the Car which I have had then for about a Month, but need to replace the front Tire's. Their response was "NO", maintenance is for your own account and that was it.
It seems that FML takes every opportunity to solicit Money from you wherever they see a possibility. So while I gave them a good review shortly after my initial dealings with them, I had no idea that this was going to go this far. In fact, there is no way I will refer ANYBODY to them.
All in all my dealings with FML has not been pleasant, While they use the "ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE" and " COURTESEY VEHICLE" ploy as marketing strategy, they are going to Invoice you for all of it one way or the other, make no mistake.
I also have prove of most of my dealings with FML on W/A, AND ON e-MAILS.
