They replaced the charge port on my phone without my go ahead and grossly over charged me. Now my phone wont charge at all anymore.

Do not buy anything here. They are 3-4x what they cost anywhere else and the price will change mysteriously between when you ask how much something costs (because NOTHING has price tags on it) to when you pay with a mysterious fee showing up after you pay. They do a pretty good job of pretending to not understand but they are just good grifters. I saw an old lady pay 1500 for a cellphone cover. They told her 800 rands then added 700 rands for the screen protector

After taking two cell phones to Gadget Paradise for screen repair quotes, I returned to find that they had already opened and repaired the phones without my consent. Needing the phones back, I accepted the cost and took them. However, after one of the phones malfunctioned just two days after I started using it, I discovered that the original battery had been replaced with a different one. Gadget Paradise is the only place that had opened the phone, which leads me to conclude that the original battery was replaced by them without my consent - ******?

My 75-year-old mother visited the Lonehill Shopping Centre's gadget Paradise branch to buy some batteries for her car remote. The store assistant advised her that the tiny batteries she was looking for were R70.00 each! She remarked that this seemed excessively high, but he advised her that they were superior quality and that she would not find a better deal anywhere else. Being a kind, yet naive elderly woman she assumed he was being fair and honest, and desperately needing the remote to work, reluctantly paid R280.00 cash for the four CR1220 batteries without receiving a receipt. On returning home and complaining about the price she paid for these batteries and how she could ill afford them as a pensioner, I helped her to do a price check online only to find that the price for the exact same battery was R15.80 (R79.00 for a pack of 5). On returning to the store the following day, I explained to the store assistant that I felt he had taken advantage of an elderly woman and that the exact same batteries were MUCH cheaper elsewhere and asked him to consider giving a refund. He explained that my mother accepted the 'first price given' and suggested that she could have negotiated a lower price. I objected, explaining that in South Africa we generally assumed the price quoted was not negotiable, and told him that I felt this was 'taking a chance' with an oblivious desperate pensioner and requested a refund. He blatantly refused as he said that she could not produce a receipt for the purchase and that she had not refused his first price offered. I find this stores' conduct extremely exploitative and unprofessional, not to mention that one would expect the management of Lonehill Shopping Centre to lease spaces to companies of a higher caliber. I would advise any future customers to be extremely cautious and first seek alternative retailers when considering this store.

24-06-2023 I bought a TV smart box at the Centurion mall branch. When discussing with the salesman he assured me again and again that if I have a problem I must come back. When I got home I tested it. The remote doesn't work properly, I put 1 app on it and it throws you out every time you access the app. The picture on wifi was so bad you cant watch when you plug in the network cable it still lags. Generally an inferior product. When I came back to the shop the next day I was met with hostility being told that they don't give refunds. This is against the consumer protection act. They got aggressive with me and told me to choose some chargers to the value of the smart box. When I refused and asked for my money back they just say I work here and cant do anything. I now sit with a product that they changed it for that is just as bad as the last. I will be taking this up with the CPA so that in future more people don't get ********** by Gadget paradise.
