This is obviously a very pointless exercise so even if whoever reads this or glances over I thought i would just go ahead anyway. I am actually doing this on behalf of my 77 year old father that went to your trauma/emergency centre on the 02 Oct 2025 and was left to walk out with a broken ankle, arm and bruised shoulder and all this institution did was put a bandage on and this man had excruciating pain. It seems that all it boils down to is money and claims from medical aid and absolutely no empathy for patients and there well being which is the sad and honest truth from this institution because this is not the first time this terrible care has taken place yet both my parents endure this over and over again and i feel so frustrated to think that this is what they need to settle for despite paying thousands of rands every month on medical aid for them. Be that as it may, he reached a point where the pain got so much worse and ended up at a local day hospital that took the time end effort to place the cast on and inform him that his shoulder is also fractured which you once again did absolutely nothing about. For the first time i have had more faith and respect for a place like that versus the treatment your institution provided, seriously you let a 77 year old man walk out with only a stupid bandage do you just not care is it just about stats, numbers and money.

Services are getting worser by the day you have to sit their for hours in pain without any assistance.Quality isn't there as years back big difference between Gatesville and Tokai terrible service and decision making is putred .

Us retirees from Huis Luckhoff,Rosebank,Cape Town: Attended a gratis Wellness Health Assessment morning at Melomed Gatesville in Athlone from 09h30 till 12h30. In the reception area. We were treated with kindness and empathy by a multidisciplinary medical team. Professional. I wish to applaud the young lady who was Client Service liason officer. She constantly checked in on us and monitored for free flowing medical assessment. I also wish to express gratitude to the hospital administration who allowed transport of six of our retirees from Huis Luckhoff back home to Rosebank,Cape Town. They used hospital transport for transport for six retirees. And our driver brought us safely back home. And he made sure we were safely delivered to our destination

Iv been helped well into my surgery.. After surgery was sent home.. Came bk a day later due to infection.. Everything was good until I had to leave the icu ward and put into the surgery recovery ward. I get to the ward I am a diabetic patient the lady decides to giv me 2 units for the evening which is crazy, I wake up with an extreme high blood sugar level over 23.. After which I was tested at 5am, I only got meds insulin an hour and a half later of 6units, and I also had to eat.. I keep arguing with staff that this insulin is too little and they say no you must take that.. After this a lady comes and gives me 16units which I never in my life took max 14units as that big amount makes me unable to focus Nd shake and unable to function if my sugar level is lower than 14 to take 14units is a huge amount.. For the last few days I hav been arguing after Dr gafoors assistant told them infront of me that I can't remind them to giv me insulin.. The very next day another nurse comes and tels me I must take 6units again.. After I was told by the doc that I need to get 12units standard.. This is rediculous, I must argue to sort out my own health what about those new diabetic patients.. Iv been diabetic for last 32years.. The other night 3am a nurse comes to me stiek me 8times in my arm saying she can't find a vein, very unprofessional and a painful experience.. The insulin injection needle used was a long thick needle which I probably used 15years ago.. The other nurse puts the open injection needle on the table while I'm eating saying here's my insulin 16units and puts the open needle on the table while I'm eating.. The next 3days I get my insulin pen thank God but the insulin pens inside cap has no cover over it(germs get in2 the things.. Worst experience of my life in the post surgical ward, icu ward is 100% no issues.. Surgical ward they dnt tel the ppl u can use the showers, shower smell like the guys abscess that burst next to me when I went in ther.. I would not of layed this complaint bt after argument of Givin my insulin I hav to tel ppl this is not acceptable.. Disappointed there are good doctors and surgeons but the nurses don't record in the files what needs to be done.. If I did not tel them I would of been way more sick.. Dr Saloojee helped me enormously to his best ability as well as Dr gafoors but the staff working in post surgery ward the hole ward needs sum kind of proper training

Gatesville Medical Centre should change their name to Gatesville Butcher Shoppe and in their ads not claim to have professional Dr's and Nursing Staff, because it is just not true. My mother was admitted on Saturday and is a Dementia patient. Yet, they place her found and does not help her eat. They then return and just take it away again without seeing if she ate. They took her urine and blood and Saturday and "someone' forgot to send it for testing so her Dr can do a diagnosis. To top it all, nobody checks up on her and ensures she is comfortable. The, you try and get hold of the Hospital Manager, an elusive Mr Hendricks, who claims not to be available. I then call Head Office and they promise to get him to call me, 4 calls later, and I am still waiting on his call. The last call I sat on the line for 15 minutes with no answer. Then rge Matron arrive and his 2 cellphones are more important than listening to our complaint. Any lawyers looking to take on these ppl. you may contact me, because this is not the first or last time. Last time they discharged her with the IV line still in her arm. The time before, they discharged her with a towel and pillow case as a diaper. So much for health care. It more like health scare

I have medical aid and the hospital transported my daughter to a state hospital, we were told that an ambulance would be R1100, I told them I had medical aid and my medical aid has ambulance services, they contacted the medical aid and then proceeded to transfer my daughter. I then end up receiving an ambulance bill not for R1100 but for R2,626.63. I contact the medical aid and they advised that the Hospital never submitted a claim. How did this become my problem?

I then end up receiving an ambulance bill not for R1100 but for R2,626.63. I contact the medical aid and they advised that the Hospital never submitted a claim. How did this become my problem?

Worse experience ever on evening of the 25th June 2021 . We were advised to not go to Gatesville med by neighbors and friends but went against their advise . Admin dont know what they doing and communicate poorly with medial aid . No proper hand over with admin staff shift changes at 7pm and no sense of customer service. Affinity confirmed they do cover the Hospital , hospital says they dont. No picking up phone and verifying data . Cold i dont care. My wife had to make countless calls and guide staff on something they should be trained to do. Whats worse is escalations goes to multiple people but nobody respond or takes ownership. I end up going home with a highly infected Absess on my leg and in extreme pain. Went to Vincent Palloti that same evening and received brilliant service at their trauma unit , while medial claims and authorisations were sorted at the back end. Affinity covering the bill and Im recovering well. I will follow the advise of those who warned me in future and advise many others not to utilize Gatesville med Trauma unit. They clearly money first people last.
