Good day. I recently purchased 4 shocks for my vehicle from Gaydons Motors Durban. Just over a month now ( which was purchased in November 2020)and the rear shocks are leaking. They had a dispute on the phone with me in December 2020 regarding the shocks and that it will take up to a week to sort out. They picked up the shocks in December 2020 and received a call after a week saying the shocks were damaged on fitment. When the shocks left me there was no damages. The shocks was fitted by myself. I know there was no damages to the shocks. They say there is no warranty on the shocks. They are rude and the service is pathetic. I am a qualified technician and I know how to fit shocks , Matthew and Naushad Mahomet said it was fitted incorrectly and damaged. It is an accusation from them and I did not damage the shock on fitment. The shocks left me with no marks on it, those marks are new. If the shocks were damaged when fitting then the leak would have been visible a long time ago. Not after a month . And when the shocks left me visible leaks was on 1 shock, but when I received the shocks back both shocks had no oil in them."" We spoke to Monroe and they managed to assist us on discounting a second pair of shocks Although claim being rejected by Monroe""- that's the reply I received after I posted a Hellopeter post on the 17th December 2020.When I spoke to Kogan to explain the email received regarding the discounts and how it's going to work he said they would credit the old invoice and reinvoice at a discounted rate , tried to speak to Naushad Mahomed but never got through. They made a big story for me to remove my review from Hellopeter. MD from Gaydons contacted my MD at my place of work and asked me to remove the post and they would assist. They made a personal sale a professional problem and involved my place of work. They are still saying shocks were damaged on fitment, The shocks were not damaged when fitment was done. I did a goodwill gesture as per Gaydons Motors Durban requested and removed it but no goodwill from Gaydons was exercised to me up until today!! I received a call on the 19th January 2021 from Naushad Mahomed, as i tried calling him to ask what's the latest as they had no shocks in stock , as when I spoke to Kogan he advised stock was not available, and when queried with Naushad Mahomed stock will only arrive in February 2021.He then asked me about payment as I queried the email again. And he says there was a misunderstanding they are not paying for the shocks and Kogan could have never said that Gaydons will credit and reinvoice. He then questions me if i have proof and phone recordings. Who in this day records phone calls ??? I know what was told to me by Kogan . Would I have kept quiet for more than a month had Kogan not told me Gaydons will credit and reinvoice? When I questioned him how can 2 people working for the same company say 2 different things he cuts the the call on me. Today 08th February 2021 I received a call from Naushad Mahomed saying the shocks are in stock and the best discount price is a difference of about a R100 each shock. Yet again I asked him please answer my question about misinformation by 2 employees that work for the same company . He cuts the call on me and never calls back. I'm very unhappy and disappointed with the terrible and pathetic service received by Gaydons Motors Durban. It's a shame that there is no one higher than the management at Gaydons Motors Durban that I can complain to and address this issue with the terrible service received and hopefully get some assistance and avoid other customers going through the same problem again.
