On the 15th of April 2020 I called Intercare Glenfair and made an appointment with Dr Van Onselen, the only one who could see me ASAP as my preferred Dr. was fully booked. I mentioned that I was stressed out. I am self employed and with the Covid 19 pandemic my stress levels are high, slightly high blood pressure, sweaty palms and another SYMPTOM, I fall asleep but then wake up and cannot fall asleep again. These are typical signs of stress which majority of businessman and woman are experiencing all over the world. I was prescribed Esperide to calm me and a sleeping tablet. Now the fact that I was prescribed a sleeping tablet the claim to GEMS was ICD10, due to this GEMS rejected the claim. When we questioned this from GEMS I was was asked to request the Dr in question to resubmit the claim with a correct ICD code. Intercare accounting department and Dr. Van Onselen refuses as this is FRAUD. My question remains: When you visit a Dr to they treat the cause or the symptoms. If you only treat the symptoms the cause gets worse. Is this what Dr's do? Only treat the symptoms in order for you to return visit after visit, making more money from your original problem not being treated. I have asked the practice Manager Rene Grobler to blacklist me from Intercare in order to ensure that I never visit this practice again. Are people aware that if you are prescribed a sleeping tablet that your medical aid does not cover this? The visit is excluded even if your medication is paid.
