My dog suffered for 3 months due to this clinic prescribing medication without thoroughly examining her. She was incorrectly diagnosed with arthritis by incompetent staff when it was actually cancer. We had to put her down after recieving a second opinion, she had tremendous pain for 3 months because this clinic didn't have the audacity to double check her file after countless requests. If there was a zero star rating, I would have used it.

It’s a good sign when your ill dog wags his tail when he realises he is visiting the vet. We’ve had to visit Glenstantia Veterinary Clinic this week under very sad conditions, and I again realised all staff cares deeply for our animals, and have genuine compassion towards their humans. We only have rescued dogs, which makes their history to work from, complex for any vet. 2 of the 3 dogs currently with us, came from rescue centres where the dogs’ ages were given as “at most” 2 years when Dr Killian found that they’re much older and have underlying conditions not divulged to us by the original vets. Since 2006 Glenstantia Veterinary Clinic has treated our animals when necessary, postponed whatever can wait. Dr Killian does thorough check-ups and explains findings, implications & options. He treats the dogs according to their nature & home realities: one dog is hyperactive so after a procedure he had to stay overnight to be kept still while the other quiet one could come home with us that night. This practice is not in it for the money. On the day the clinic was closed for decontamination the hyperactive dog got an injury which required an emergency operation so we took him to another vet. Afterwards I gave this practice the detailed printout & asked a line by line item quote for a similar procedure - 2/3! Normal consultation fee for existing customers is also far less than at nearby vets, and with our frequent follow-ups the past weeks they did not charge full consultation fees.

I trust Dr Kilian absolutely, because his focus is on the animals, not on making money. This is the opinion of many of my friends and colleagues as well. My dog loves him and wags his tail going into Dr Kilian's consulting room - despite having had lots of unpleasant things done to him in there over the years! The reception staff are always friendly and helpful, no matter how busy they are.

Glenstantia Veterinary Clinic is the only vet I prefer. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful, and really care about your pets. I only take my dog to them as they are the only people I trust with my furbaby's life. #BlackFriday

Apart from being charged more than R1800 for an inconclusive diagnosis after tests and x-rays, I was told our Jack Russell must stay over at this clinic for more than 4 nights to be locked up in a very small 1x1m cage because they do not trust us to keep her still at home. They had this pre-conceived notion that she has a damaged shim in her spinal cord which was a complete fallacy confirm by arthritis medication from a different vet. When I complained (in writing) about the bill, he simply takes this nonchalant approach of there was nothing wrong with my service, you were the owner that removed the dog from my care before i could get to the bottom of the problem.... Be careful of this Vet......!!!
