Couldn’t believe how expensive this vet was. My dog has had a chronic ear infections, on my 2nd consultation they charged R600 consultation fee, R150 to look in my dogs ear. R1000+ for an injection but then an additional R150 to give the injection. Ear drops for R600 when my previous vet gave those for R150. Doctors don’t even charge R600 to look at people, but they charge this after looking at my dog for 5 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. Great staff but will not be going back due to the ridiculous fees they charge. Slapped with a R4000 bill the first and another the 2nd time.

Took our older very light cat in as an emergency for trauma/shock. She literally weighs 3 kilos. Collected her a day later, with a bill of thousands of RRR's. Overnight stay, some meds and zero X-rays. No-one has bothered to phone to check up on her and I find it shocking what the bill came to.

I recently took my pup to the vet as she had a broken nail. The vet on duty just went ahead and pulled her nail out without sedating her or discussing it with me first. I heard her cry from the waiting room and she was very traumatised. The vet even left the nerve part of the nail attached so when she walked she would push on the nerve and be in agony. I feel very angry and upset that the vet did this. I find he was gruel to my dog. Vets should be kind and caring but he just janked her nail out it was torture as far as I am concerned. I will most definitely not use Greenside Animal Hospital ever again.

If you treasure your best friend with four paws, you will want to take your pet to Greenside Animal Hospital where they regard every pet as "pawsome". They have only always given my pets excellent medical care and now recently again when Kokom my rescue husky fractured her tiny jaw bone. With abroken heart I looked to Drs Sarah, Suzette and Simone and support staff Palessa, Bernice, Sue and the rest of the team, to without hesitation, take on the roles of Kokomo's guardian Angels. Together they ensured that she received only the best medical treatment available. For this rescue puppy who has a larger than life personality, this would be just another battle in her young life that she would bravely overcome. Dr Sarah Boyd, a specialist surgeon performed intricate surgery and with regular follow up treatments by the rest of the amazing team, she is now ready to take on the world again with all four paws. As for myself, I would never have been able to make it through this emotionally charged ordeal without the teams encouragement and support every step of the way. Today Kokomo is back to living her best life again.

They may be vets but their prices are highway robbery. After getting a quote prior to the procedure they doubled their quote when they presented the bill. We are pensioners and can not afford this. There should be an ombudsman to control the way these people behave. I am disgusted and sooo disappointed. Never ever take your animals there. Unless you are in a fortunate position where money is no object. Shocking shocking shocking

Took my lab to Greenside Animal Hospital on Thursday 9th Jan 2020. He needed a vaccination and had done some serious damage to his ear which needed seeing to. Got there around 12.30pm and was told that there was an extra surcharge for coming in during a busy time. Strange that the vet was available to see my dog but would charge extra due to time of day. We arranged to come back at 3.30pm. When I got back the vet had a good look and said she needed to sedate him to get the treatment on the ear done. We should therefore come in later to fetch him. Before giving the go ahead I specifically asked what it would cost. I was told by the vet that it be around R2000 including the vaccination. I told her to go ahead. We then got to the hospital around 6.45pm to pick up max my dog. I was told that it was very busy and that treatment would only start then. He would be kept overnight and that there would be no extra charge. So, we then get to the hospital at 8.40am on Friday 10th Jan 2020. Max is fine but the bill is R2300 without the vaccination which costs around R750. I asked why and was given all sorts of strange excuses by the very polite receptionist and other vet. I was told that extra work had to be done. I was told that the final bill was given my the owner and that other quotes don’t matter. They even looked thru the bill and tried finding extra charges. I paid and left. I will certainly not be going back. Further I shall be making sure that this polite extra charging is known to many.
