Disclosing of information

I would like to raise a concern about the ethics of the company. I sent my CV for job applications just to find out the informed the owner of my current employer that i have sent my CV to them for opening positions. Is this how employment companies operate when they are personal friends with a owner of a Company you work for where is the confidentiality of not disclosing information.
