I was fraudulently subscribed to this service and I never gave them my contact details. When their agent called me I made it clear I only want a smart phone that I applied for online, which is where they must have got my contacts. When they called I was made to believe it was a cellphone application but kept on telling me about this 'Mi handyman' insurance and I made it clear I'm not interested in that service. The next thing I know a debit order is created on my banking app without my acceptance. I don't think this is a legitimate company

I responded to an ad by 'The Handyman group' some time ago for odd jobs around the house. Their ad promised "a one-stop property maintenance service", "offering a full range of property maintenance services by qualified trades people", and that they employ "only qualified and highly experienced trades people to ensure that your property maintenance is in safe hands".

After coming out to quote, he assessed the work as requiring no more than a day. He asked for a 50% deposit, and started work a few days later. They didn't manage to get all the work done on one day, and had to come out a second day. The workmanship was so shoddy that some of the fixtures started falling apart while they were still working on other parts of the house.

He asked for more money to pay his workers and to buy more supplies, and then just never turned up again. In a subsequent email he even claimed that his electrician was at my house, while I was there waiting for him. He then stopped answering emails and phone calls.

Bottom line: he disappeared with about R5000 of my money, with none of the work completed.

AVOID THIS PERSON IF YOU COME ACROSS HIM OR SEE HIS AD.

His name is Jacques, his telephone number is 079 252 7895 and email address aluminium@live.co.za.

He trades under 'The Handyman Group' but invoices state the name of his company as Habano Cigars t/a Door Repair Centre cc 1999/0429/8223
