Bike went in for a general service, they bill me for repair after repair. Never had issues until they touched it. They are more than useless. They had my bike for 2 days when they sent me a ridiculous bill. Then they wait a week to tell me they can't source a tyre... I had to source one myself from Gold Rand, which was also R1000 cheaper than Cape Town... then they fail to deliver my bike on the agreed date, stating they have found more problems? Then send me a bill for an even more ridiculous amount, nothing of which I agreed to. Absolutely horrible communication, terrible service and they charge more than they should.

I purchased a used 2016 Honda Africa Twin 1000L DCT from Harley-Davidson Cape Town on March 1st, 2025, and unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. To begin with, the motorcycle was sold to me without a service history or any documentation proving when the last service was carried out. For a premium dealership like Harley-Davidson, this lack of transparency is unacceptable — especially when buying a used bike where service history is crucial for peace of mind. On top of that, the bike came fitted with a top box that was secured using only three nuts and bolts. This raised serious concerns about the safety and quality checks performed before the bike was handed over. Once I removed the top box, I discovered that the constant rattling noise I had been hearing wasn’t caused by it at all — it was in fact due to a very loose chain, which was clearly neglected during any pre-sale inspection or prep. To make matters worse, after the motorcycle was collected by their service department, I received no update for two full days. Not a single call or email to let me know what was going on or what the service status was. This lack of communication only added to my growing frustration. Buying a motorcycle — especially from a reputable brand like Harley-Davidson — should be a positive and exciting experience. Sadly, this one has left me feeling let down and questioning the standards of service at Harley-Davidson Cape Town. I strongly urge potential buyers to think twice and ask all the hard questions before doing business with them. Disappointed customer.

My bike was involved in an accident in July 2024 and the insurance company said it must go to the nearest dealership. This unfortunately happened to be this company. I took the bike to them in july and was told they would assess and supply the necessary quotation. The quote took ages as they were short staffed, so I was told. We eventually got the quote after me having to chase after them. Long story short, they promise to provide updates, these are never forthcoming. Messages are answered with little or no information, excuses are in abundance. You cannot get hold of the dealer principle to voice your frustration and find some form of support. He is protected species and hides under a bundle of staff. It is now the middle of January and I still do not have my bike nor do I have any indication of when it might be ready. This has been the most frustrating period and a really bad experience with them. There are 99 emails between myself and HD CT and I still have no idea when my bike will be ready.

Has anyone experienced the total lack of service at *Harley Davidson Cape Town*? My advice, rather sell your HD before you degrade yourself to deal with them… or hope that that there are branches that is willing to help. From the “Spares Guy” to his boss the Sales Manager, to the “accounts ladies”… beware! Especially if they owe you money…it will be promise upon promise, upon passing the back and shifting blame. They all seem very nice and helpful on the phone, but action is completely absent. I must have spent about the same amount on telephone calls to the ±R13k they owe me. Most of the times listening to a monotonous jazz song while the call just remains unanswered. Don’t bother to leave messages – they do not even call back as they nicely promised. The lame response was from "the owner" on their website's review site... Not sure why he even bothered... that only added to my frustration.

Would strongly not advise to do any repairs at Harley Davidson Cape Town. Less than a month ago, Harley Davidson Cape Town repaired my gear lever that broke. They gave me an option of ordering a new set for over R7000 or could weld it and solve the issue for R 1200. 00 or 2 hours labour. They were confident that they would be able to weld/repair the lever but less than a month later the lever broke at the exact place they welded it, which left me on the side of the road and having to arrange for a tow(additional cost) . Went back to Harley Davidson with the gear lever in hand to show them R1200 weld which came apart and asked for for a refund as per the CPA (Section 56 (3) therefore deals with failed repairs: If the consumer elected to have the goods repaired and the “failure, defect or unsafe feature” has not been repaired after a period of three months has elapsed since the repair; or if a further failure is discovered, the supplier must either replace the goods or refund the consumer) but was informed they had already spent time fixing it so wouldn't be doing a refund instead after I fixed the "fixed lever" at my own cost they will be happy to have the lever fitted. I also did not opt for them welding again as they done such a "great job" in the beginning. Disappointing outcome, received some good service but would never do any sort of business with them in the future.

What a terrible , horrible experience i have had attempting to buy a bike with Harley Davidson Cape Town. The most unreliable, lying person i have met in my life. This guy make promises on timelines and he then ignores your calls . His name is Andrew Crouch. Stay away from that dealership . I have been waiting 4 weeks to take delivery of a bike that is still on their website. If you call the reception they tell you the bike sold , but when you call Andrew he tells the bike is available . Really disappointed with Harley Davidson Cape Town ..Bad bad experience with them !!!!
