Notwithstanding the beautiful luxury tent - which i can say is the only PLUS for this place, it was the worst experience i had. The owner does not attend to complaints of noise and well after 10 when our neighbours did not calm down, Derick just confirmed he will give us back our money. Needless to say, we arrived Friday, left at 08:45 Saturday - NEVER saw Derick after various promises that he is on his way. I did get my money back, but Derick did not even bother to come and see us himself. He left his receptionist to sort out the mess. further the advertising on the websites are not as it seems. as i said, the only thing that was nice was the tent and we could not even enjoy that because of other people and the lack of an owner's responsibility.

On their website it stated the lodge is self catering. I made the booking and payment a few days before our check in date. Upon arrival we were told our rooms are not self catering and it’s shared toilets. We called property manager, his name is Derick,he was extremely rude, unhelpful, so not interested in the concerns we raised. Why advertise falsely? Why were we not told upon booking that it’s not self catering? Why wait until check in day? Why advertise it’s self catering when it’s not? They need to be held accountable for false and misleading advertising. The rooms were partially dirty, toilet is outside and has a bad smell. Do not ever book at Harties is Africa safari lodge, Derick the manager is rude and sends the black lady (cleaner) to do his dirty work. He didn’t even apologize for the confusion and inconvenience caused instead he was being disrespectful and rude! Never again will you see us in this place, I’ll post on all social media for awareness cause this place is bad!

Misleading --very misleading- no wifi- no generator during loadshedding- there is an alarm that goes of through the night - you dont know whether your car is safe- the animals on the website and real life -- two total different things- This was a very disappointing trip- we traveled from the east rand to this place - this is a total let down - toilets far away from rooms- with no keys to lock the doors - meaning in this cold you must go bath or shower and walk in the cold back to your room- so it was a horrible experience- they charge you a 15% fee on your key deposit- and refund you only three days afterwards if you paid via card- no tv in the rooms- not -- communal kitchen- oh no guys - this is 2022- get woke- this is for school kids maybe- if they go on a trip - not for a weekend away to rest -- the high way right next to your room-- hear cars all night.. oh no-- disappointing

On 14/06/2021 I made reservations for me and my children for accommodation at Harties is Africa for the night of 25/09/2021 ( Reservation NB-67413107). I fully paid the reservation on that same day. On the 14/09/2021 I got an email from Harties is Africa that they cancelled my reservation because there was a dispute between them and my sister. The irony of the whole thing is that the reservation my sister made had nothing to do with me and my reservation so why victimize me? She only contacted them in August or September to make a booking for herself (Booking NB-67955454). I do not have nothing to do with the dispute between Harties is Africa and my sister and find it highly unprofessional from them to cancel my reservation. They at least had the decency to refund my total reservation amount, but still inconvenienced me as I can now not get any accommodation on that weekend.

The manager treated us so poorly. Check out is at 10am, their staff came at 10 to count cutlery and whatnot, we were out of the room waiting for the check out confirmation. We paid a R300 refundable deposit. We proceeded to book additional accommodation for following weekend to the value of R5000, when we drove out we saw the owner had stolen R200 from our refundable deposit, he had taken an addition R200 as a late checkout fee. When we went back to talk to him about it he threw our money back at us and canceled our booking for next weekend. People help me show managers like this that treating guests in this manner should not be supported.
