Short term gain = long term pain
Normally if the wife and I feel like going to a restaurant for fish and chips, we go to Hooked, but oh man did I regret the last visit. The portion of calamari was so small for R50.00 and we got 2 of those. Felt like I threw R100.00 away. Now the fish and chips was what was really disappointing. The fried fish use to have good flavour and tasted like fresh fish, but now it had no taste, didn't flake apart and had a weird shape. I had to layer the fish with garlic, lemon and chillies just to get some sort of flavour. So now they charge you more for fish and chips but use frozen fish, which is cheaper to buy. I understand that we are going through a pandemic and I really feel for the restaurant industry, come on. Don't drop our quality to save a bit of money. By that, the loyal customers you once had won't be coming back no more. Short term gain = long term pain.

Extremely Bad Service
11/11/2019 I was so excited to take my kids/family to Hooked to enjoy their Malva Pudding, as i was referred by colleagues (about 30 people from Capitec) who were taken to Hooked for a 3 course meal... i was extremely dissapointed in the service received. I would not call that a malva pudding as it was a big dry piece of cake, which seemed it was over baked with no sauce whatsoever, and so little ice cream. My daughter told me, "mom your malva pudding is way better than this, i was totally embarrased as i bragged about a place to my kids that i have never been to. WHAT A DISSAPPOINTMENT. I asked the waitress to tell the manager about this horrible encounter...the manager did not have any decency to come me to find out or apologise for the pathetic service. That was my first and will be my last time visiting Hooked.

Hooked Tygervalley - I am hooked!!!!!
THE BEST FISH IN TOWN! We love the food! Love the waitrons and management! Excellent service, and most yum food! Paul the manager, makes us feel like we part of the family!!!! I'm hooked!!!!!

POOR SERVICE FROM STAFF AND MANAGEMENT
I ordered a seafood platter for 2 and when i went to collect it , they didnt know anything about the order they didnt know where the order was aswell as they didnt give anything with the seafood like salt or pepper or anything for the chips the mussela was drowning in the sauce and all you tasted is garlic , the fish was dry and the fact that you pay so much money and then you get such **** attitude , staff is unpleasant and they refuse to help and when asked for management she said shes busy with a customer and she walks away what unproffesional service is this . they are so un organised they took the money not give a slip so how do they expect anyone to buy there when they cant even give proper service over the phone .
