If you're looking for a 72% point-of-service markup and highly creative customer engagement, this is your team.

The brief was simple: connect a dishwasher to infrastructure 20cm away. To de-risk the process, I sent six detailed photos of the plumbing setup beforehand. We anc****d on a written quote of R1,450.

Execution failed immediately upon arrival. The team walked in, announced they "needed parts", exactly what the photos were designed to prevent, and the price spiked to R2,500. A 72% hike once the toolbox is already in your kitchen isn't a revised estimate. It's a shakedown.

I declined the new price. They countered by demanding a call-out fee to subsidize their own quoting error. I politely declined that as well.

The real value-add arrived shortly after via a WhatsApp voice note from their office, calling me "yo ma se ****." I don't speak fluent Afrikaans, so I can only assume this is local industry parlance for, "Thank you for the opportunity, sir, we sincerely apologize for wasting your time."
