Bad water or whatgu

The bottled water has a parifin or petrol like smell I spoke to the owner who said that it's poly oak the company where he buy bottles from its in the recycled material I always buy this bottled water and have had this taste for some time bit thought my I'm imagining it the small bottles and 1.5 has the same smell don't know if this is a health concern or what I have the water and am gana have it tested the owner did not come back to me
