Unsatisfactory After Service
I have taken my car to Hylton Woodhead Panel Beaters in Robertsham Johannesburg but after getting it back it made a screeching sound that was never there before. However the company did not take responsibility to have a look at it and brushed it off saying the noise did not come from their work. Can the insurance company not take them off the list of panel beaters for BMWs, Mercedes etc as these cars have many electronics and Hylton Woodhead in not an approved BMW specialist.

Please note that as per our job card and the work we undertook on your vehicle :
We repaired your front bumper and replaced your headlamp on the front of your BMW which was a "out of warranty" claim from your insurer, your vehicle being 8 years old in model now.
All repairs conducted to your vehicle restored the front of your vehicle back to manufacturer specification including the setting of the electronic settings of your headlamp etc.
Upon collection, you stated that you were very satisfied with the service and how your vehicle repairs turned out.
Shortly after you left from our workshop, you returned and complained about a noise coming from your vehicle. My workshop foreman drove with you in the vehicle to try determine what noise this was and where it was coming from. It was then ascertained that the noise was coming from the rear of your vehicle, most likely a bearing or something similar as a wear and tear item. This was kindly explained to you by our workshop foreman who also explained that we only repaired your front bumper and replaced the headlamp which is in the front of your vehicle and no repairs were conducted on the rear of the vehicle at all. Im sure you are well aware of this.
Surely we cannot be held liable for items on your vehicle which are on the opposite side on your vehicle from where we actually worked? Im sure this makes sense.
Unfortunately, this matter of the noise coming from the rear of your vehicle is totally unrelated to our work we undertook and warranty provided on your vehicles repairs.
Should there be any problems related to the work we undertook on the front of your vehicle, where we worked, please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime suitable to yourself and we will resolve these immediately for you as per our warranty provided to yourself for these repairs.
I trust that this information clarifies this matter and places further light on the unfortunate negative review that you posted regarding our services which have been rendered to you.
