Not sure if this is right place for my complaint, but I have already tried the DA Counsellor Chris Santana who is no help at all even though I have sent him photos of what is going on at the house opposite me at 37 Astor Road, Klevehill Park. The owner of the house Sally Nichol ********** 362 perpetually does things that are not permitted in a residence 1 suburb of Sandton. Firstly she brought 200 chickens there and let them run around, then she hired the house out to a restaurant owner for his waiters and kitchen staff to stay in. The waiters came and went at all hours, were often drunk and disorderly and they played loud music and generally made a din. The residents association somehow managed to get them out after about 4 to 5 months. Miss Nichol then began to renovate the house with no plans, using a builder from Alexander. We spoke to this guy and he said she wanted him to put floor to ceiling office partitioning in to create as many small rooms within the house as he could fit in. (Have photos of this) He also knocked down walls to add bathrooms and was about to divide the double garage into 4 more such rooms. At this point 9 unrelated persons were already renting rooms there, plus 2 staff thatvwork in her warehouse built alongside the house. But up to 8=10 more people could rent the other rooms when completed. This meant we had lorries delivering stuff to the warehouse, couriers picking up stuff from the warehouse, cars of the residents, plus taxis dropping people off or picking them up all day long. Now we still have all these vehicles coming and going, but she has now also let the house out to a contractor who is laying water pipes in the suburb . All his plant is stored at the house and eac morning at about 6.15 am around 30=50 of his staff report for duty to the house. They then begin loading heavy stuff onto large lorries, making a terrible din. The staff often lay on my pavemet and leave bottles and plastic wrappings from food stuffed into the shrubbery. Smaller trucks come and go all day long and the staff wander in and out at random. The large trucks park us in so that we cant get in or out of our driveway. We have asked, pleaded and threatened about this to no avail. Meanwhile with all this going on we have our house up for sale, so the agents and buyes cant get into our driveway to view the house. Of course people also want to know what is going on over the road and this has lost us several possible sales already. Estate agents will verify this. I don't know if anything can be done here, but I would appreciate some hel and advice. We are both in our 80's and trying to sell our house so we can move into a retirement village asap, but are despairing of doing this with all this nonsense going on.. We have already dropped the price, but buyers see the mess and the trucks and men in overalls over the road and are put off. This is actually a nice peaceful suburb apart from all this and its ideally placed for good schools, airports, and good office parks and shops, so we should sell, but its just not happening. Please advise me if you can help. Thank you. Regards, Joy Kruger
