Joe’s Automotive / JD Brake and Steering in Brakpan Warning! Do not use Joe’s Automotive / JD Brake and Steering in Brakpan to work on your vehicle. This workshop is in financial trouble and will only take your money upfront to settle other accounts and not use your payment for the parts that they need to repair your vehicle. This workshop does not have the expertise that is required to repair your vehicle as their mechanics have left due to financial reasons. This workshop depends on the repairs of other workshops and cannot afford to pay for their services. Lies, lies, lies! Do not believe a word spoken by the owner of this workshop. He does in fact not make all the repairs so easily promised or confirmed by him and the so-called “driver is always on his way with the parts needed to fix your vehicle”. This I regrettably realised after waiting 6 weeks for what was supposed to be a 2-day repair, as quoted by them. I should have seen the red lights when the owner asked me to make an upfront payment of 100% of the quotation and that I should pay the money into n new bank account. Do not be conned into doing this as I was. After 6 weeks I had to collect my vehicle with damage caused by this workshop. They bumped my vehicle and tried to hide it from me. Then they had the repairs done by a backyard mechanic with an obvious unwanted outcome. My vehicle also got hail damaged at this workshop, that was also hidden from me. After 6 weeks the work that was required to be done was not done. This workshop could not even repair a simple faulty handbrake that is already a result from a previous substandard job done by Joe’s Automotive / JD Brake and Steering. Due to a lack of knowledge and experience this workshop only caused further damage to my vehicle. Other than the body damage their poor workmanship and inexperience resulted into the rear axle of my vehicle from coming loose from the leaf springs and consequently ripping out the prop shaft. This happened whilst they were test driving the vehicle to check their own work. This they did not repair but merely put the prop shaft together again with the hope that I would not realise it. After being without a vehicle for 6 weeks, I am back to square one and now have to have a damaged fender and hail damage repaired, the prop shaft centre bearing and universal joints replaced and balanced and I still have to take my vehicle to a reputable workshop to repair the brakes of the vehicle, which was the main reason for me taking the vehicle back the Joe’s Automotive / JD Brake and Steering for a warranty repair of a poor job already done by them previously. Do not be fooled by Joe’s Automotive / JD Brake and Steering, as I was, and rather take your vehicle to a reputable workshop. Also read the reviews of a company before you make use of their services. This error in judgment by myself cost me a lot of money in damages and inconvenience.

Gave Johan a steering box for a minor modification on the arm which involved some welding. Long story short Johan doesn't keep to his word regarding keeping a client up to speed regarding progress of the repair nor when the part would be ready for collection. Called numerous times and still waiting for a call from him. Worse still the part was not repaired correctly and is useless to me. Will be taking in again to to a different place to correct his mistake - R800 wasted.

I send in a Isuzu steering rack in for repairs in October 2015. I received an invoice that states that there is a 12 month warranty on the repairs of the steering rack.. we installed the steering rack. the steering did not want to turn it was stuck, then Johan and his Dad come out to our truck yard to repair the fault on the steering rack. in December 2015 about the 15th, I received a call from the client, saying that the truck does not want to turn.. it is standing at Makro Centurion.<br> I phoned and spoken to Johan, I told him what the problem was, he told me that I can pay for the towing, to bring the truck to him, he will not send people out to attend to this problem. When I asked him if he will pay for the tow truck, he started yelling at me, telling me he will not do that and I need to get the truck to him. I told him but the truck broke down due to the steering rack not working..The truck is still not repaired, the mechanic phoned him and told him to go out and repair the steering rack, he said that he will not go out to do it. My husband then took the phone and asked him why will he not do that, he then started yelling and swearing said that eveybody wants money.
