Approximately 3 months ago I purchased an automatic gearbox for my 1976 Toyota Hilux pickup from Johan Kruger t/as JJ S****yard. What convinced me to buy the gearbox from them was that Jaco insisted he had the correct gearbox and promised me that if I had any issues with the gearbox he would sort me out no matter what. He mentioned that they owned more than one s****yard and had more than one of the gearboxes I sought after. He told me he also had a few manual gearboxes that would fit in stock. Confident and trusting I had to pay via EFT R 2,300.00 into JJ Kruger Absa account in advance. On receipt of the gearbox it was found not to be exactly the same gearbox and that it would require modifications to make it fit. I contacted Jaco but his attitude had completely changed and I could hear the chances of him swapping the gearbox or returning my money was small to null. After some cutting and welding my mechanic managed to fit the gearbox but it wouldn't engage. Myself and Hannes (my mechanic) tried in vain to get JJ S****yard to exchange the gearbox as they promised to do and started asking questions that really shifted the blame on my mechanic. This was a week after I purchased the gearbox from JJ S****yard and I was told by them that they neither had any other auto gearboxes nor manual gearboxes for that vehicle since they sold all of them in the last week (lol). Tired of pleading with JJ S****yard and being strong armed by Jaco and in particular by Johan, Hannes my mechanic took it upon himself to attempt a repair to the gearbox himself and went ahead and stripped it. A broken gear was found inside the gearbox. Hannes has on more than one occasion physically gone to JJ S****yard and was shown the door. I have called them untold times without any joy whatsoever. Their attitude is basically they have my money and to get rid of me and Hannes asap. Jaco acts as if he is helpless because Johan controls him and so they “pass the buck” between the two of them. Beware of these two Shenanigans and don't think of buying your next car part from JJ S****yard!
