Do not use this platform!

we want to log a formal complaint about our recent trip and the service at Kamp:

Service of Kampi platform: First of all, I want to warn future renters that as renters on your trip you will be liable for any damages to your trailer. Kampi's insurance will cover almost nothing and your deposit will always be taken as a means of payment for damages (even though it not being your fault). There is no clear process in place at Kampi to inspect proper maintenance by the owners, so inspect everything thoroughly twice as renters. Kampi's policy even says they treat their owners as "royalty" leaving renters without any grounds to stand on in case of a dispute.

Having said that:

Incredibly disappointing end of a trip.

We booked a trip with owner Marike. On the day of departure we heard the Bushy Ranger was sold to new owner Jana. It seems to us the trailer was NOT fully inspected by the new owners before our leave, because on our trip to the Kgalagadi the suspension broke on a tarred road. Suggesting the trailer was inspected properly is inredibly misplaced given the REAL situation of a broken bolt in the left side suspension on a normal tarred road. We could not do anything to prevent this failure. It seems there was a worn nut and bolt that broke off. Leaving the suspensions skewed and the tire s****ing the back plate. Fortunately, we were able to fix it ourselves in the middle of nowhere. A helpful man gave us a proper bolt to put the suspension back in place. The owners told us everything was fine, but quoted us a ********** amount of money after they fixed it in their own workshop in Somerset-West. With exorbitant labour and tire costs. The work was done by their own company, making this all seem a bit suspicious.

Also, we were told a grid cleaner was missing even though we notified them that it wasn't there in the first place. The owners acknowledged this, told us they would handle it with the previous owners, but still quoted us for it! I would not recommend renting this trailer from the current owners.
