On 19 August 2018, I used the Kayak.com Air travel search engine to book an EASYJET flight from Athens to Gatwick London on 20 Sept (Booking reference EVMGSH9).
Passenger names (myself and my wife) were entered into the designated fields and verified as correct
The booking was paid (400euros) and the booking confirmation was returned with errors on both names. More particularly, my first name was repeated twice before my surname; my first name appeared as my wife's first name. On this basis, we would not have been permitted to board the flight.
I proceeded to the 'Manage my Booking' link to correct the error and a charge of 130 Euros was raised. UNACCEPTABLE.
I then proceed to Easyjet chat and this facility returned an ‘Error’ message.
I then cancelled the booking at a cost of 37 Euros. In reply, I was advised it would take 7 days for my VISA card to be refunded. I emailed a request to Kayak.com for a refund of the cancellation fee. The mail was returned as failed.
Only part of the airfare was refunded and to date: No reply from either Kayak.com or Easyjet and no refund of the cancellation fee. This is quite simply theft.
