Bought two Kwese Play streaming devices in January 2019 for two separate tv sets. The entire service has now been discontinued. i.e. R2,200 wasted. Positively my worst purchase ever. BEWARE TO PERSONS SEARCHING FOR A STREAMING DEVICE. THE PRICE HAS BEEN REDUCED TO HALF THE ORIGINAL PRICE BUT THE DEVICE IS USELESS. DO NOT BUY!!! The vague reply from e-mails to Kwese states that the problem is being dealt with by their technical team

There has been no one answering the phones at their call centre, and passing the buck for their terrible service. apparently, some pencil neck at Roku head office in California, has decided that Africa is a bad investment, and he decided to switch off all users in South Africa and in Zimbabwe. 13000 in SA, and over 20 000 in Zim. no apology and no explanation.

I switched on my Kwese Play TV Box this morning to find that all my apps Netflix, Youtube etc was missing. A message came up on the TV stating that " Econet no longer offers Kwese Play.For more information contact Econet. I have contacted Econet via webchat and spoke to Olga who was not helpful at all. Could some at Kwese Play or Econet please assist and get back to me urgently.

Where to begin. . . This is to date, the biggest disappointment ever . . . to have paid so much for this load of ****. (R 1 100) This box is so outdated on content, that the movies listed goes up to 2015 but it is so old that it seems that it is from 1915. There is no option to download additional streaming apps . . . and of all the apps available on the box, most of it is insanely stupid games & the rest of the apps consists of travel blogs & recipe channels. I had a problem registering, as I did not receive my OTP sms even after 3 attempts. . .so had to resort to contacting the Support department. With the money paid on this utter useless box, you could have bought 2 Android Tv Boxes which gives you the option of downloading your own apps to stream shows and movies from. . . what is better, you can actually watch up to date / current shows on the Android box. I am utterly disappointed that I never got the Android box, instead of Kwese Box. This content might be entertaining to people that are about 80+ years of age, but not for the individual that wants to keep up with current entertainment. So when is Kwese planning on upping their game for the R 1 100 paid for this ? I will NEVER in my life recommend this to anyone I know, not even my worst enemy. Utter disappointment & rubbish.

I got this device on Tuesday and realize that it was an enormous mistake. To be clear, the ONLY reason to get one is that it is the cheapest unit capable of playing Netflix on HD. But since Tuesday I have not been able to get onto Netflix despite assurances that it will be sorted out in a matter of hours. So, please buy a Telkom Lit box instead which has, so far as I know, also got the decryption to play Netflix at 1080p, but also allows you to watch Showmax and Amazon video. And don't fall for their hype concerning the other channels. They are terrible (apart from Bloomberg and The Economist) and you are unlikely ever to watch the,. This is possibly the worst decision I've ever made.

Shocking service - no one gets back to you. I am still waiting on my 10 minutes for someone to call me back from Saturday. Managers do not respond. Netflix does not work and that is the reason for buying the device. Very very disappointed
