In all my years of dealing with companies this is the one that is on the top for being the worst. Lies, broken promises, defective product, not taking responsibility for their errors or lack of response.

Lansdowne Boards' level of Service and Quality is inferior and not recommendable: I ordered new kitchen units from Lansdowne Boards in August 2021. Due to various shortcomings/faults on the side of Lansdowne Boards, the job took more than 4 months to finish: On several occassions I was presented with inferior quality and time delays beyond acceptable levels by Lansdowne Boards: Everything started when their salesperson Kenneth Miller told me that the flat packed units are ready for collection. I started my micbrobus and drove to them, only to learn that Mr Miller was not in the day we fixed for the collection and the items were not ready. After telling a manager present my dissatisfaction about this, he agreed to deliver the units after the week-end. From this point onwards, nothing was working properly from the side of Lansdowne Boards: Units were delivered in 2 batches (not everyting together). The doors were not present as still with the spraypinter. I was told I must let them know when I want the countertop and its lenght. Despite this agreement, the delivery guys brought me a countertop already cut. (Sorry, I did not give them the lenght yet) and the edges were chipped. When the spraypainter was done with the doors, depite me furnishing exact color codes and samples swaps, instead of receiving a royal blue like colour, the doors came in a light lilac. I had then to drive around and pay for new paint samples from a paint specialist to furnish via Lansdown Boards to the spraypainter. Then it took weeks waiting time for the job to be redone. The color came out correct the second time. But a piece on the order list was forgotten and a further delay of weeks. When this piece finally arrived wrapped, the wrapping left ugly marks on it and it had to be spraypainted again. Another few weeks delay. With regards to the flat packed units: There was no instruction manual on how to assemble them included, as this is highlighted on the website of Lansdowne Boards. I paid for a customs job and then was told that for the customs jobs there is no instruction manuals. Hello, customs job cost more then the regular flat packed units and an instruction should be included. What an excuse. At various occassions there were not enough wooden dowels and certain *****s missing. Also some doors hinges were not included. And then bolts in some door hinges were missing as well. I had to drive forward and backwards several times, complain, etc., in order to get the missing parts. All bottom boards of several units were drilled out of measurement on the left hand front sides. Assembling the units in this state would have left an uneven front and hence doors would not close neatly. This was investigated and I was told that the German made drilling machine of Lansdowne Boards was out of measurements and that they will redo the entire job. Then this statement changed to, no - we will redrill or widen the existing holes and it should work then. So a "fiddle job" and not a precise job I paid for was forced onto me. Their machine was out of order for many days in any case. Drawer units were delivered with parts where the melamine was chipped-off looking very ugly and where some front and end boards were scew. They delivered twice new drawers. Every time they did a job again, there was quality issues with the newly delivered parts. The employee who came around to fetch the built-up units, brought some back with damaged floor boards, which then had to be exchanged again. In amending a top part of the sink unit at the back, the same guy cut off too much of the part and this had to be done again. The whole job was a never ending story of poor quality and craftmansship and dealing with a salesman who was friendly but else always took his sweet little time of weeks to make good after every major complaint. No wonder, the whole job which started in August 2021 could be completed in January 2022 only. Lansdown Boards also wanted 100% payment before starting with the job. Once more, any company who wants everything in advance - do not trust them. Because a company who has a good reputation and provides good quality, will not ask for 100% in advance. I asked the salesman Kenneth Miller to forward my dissatisfaction to his management and that under the circumstances I would expect a part-refund of lets say 30% of the total amount of R 13'794.46 paid to Lansdowne Boards. This for all the time, petrol and nerves, etc., I wasted in dealing with them. Also for having settled with a job where the holes were drilled out of measurement by their faulty machine. I had to accept their "fiddle job." I do hold a whole photo library of the ordeal I had with Lansdowne Boards. I also never got my paint samples I organized for the second spray painting replaced by them. I asked Mr Miller for this. Just silence from their side. I certainly cannot recommend anyone to use Lansdowne Boards whatsoever. Neither their workmanship nor their attititute is recommendable. They caused me lots of pain and aggony. Unprofessional to the core. And when asked for a compensation for the damages suffered, pure silence from their part. Nil.

Kenneth's customer service and product knowledge is excellent. The product range is great and prices are good. The website is very useful in giving you an idea of the cost of your project (there is a Build-Your-Own function). The lead times are quite long (3 weeks), but accurate, which helps with planning. Unfortunately, delivery is a bit of a shambles, with items missing.

My star rating is in fact ZERO, but I had to rate in order to leave a comment. We purchased white high gloss vinyl wrapped doors when we remodelled our kitchen a number of years ago. Over time the doors have discoloured. Some are cream and some are a darker beige. I took one of my doors in, together with pictures of the rest of my kitchen, for them to see what the rest of the doors look like and how mismatched my kitchen cupboards are. I was assisted by one of the sales persons who requested that I leave the door with him and promised me that he would send someone to hang the door and to assess the situation. After waiting 3 days, I eventually called them to follow up. They sent someone the following day to hang the door and to investigate. My cupboards are not in direct sunlight and I wipe them down with a soft cloth, so they were unable to provide me with a logical explanation as to why only certain doors had discoloured. It appears that mine is an unusual case and I was reassured that they were assessing the matter that was now escalated to the GM, Idries Adams. After weeks of waiting for a response and hearing nothing on the way forward, I again had to get in touch with Lansdowne Boards. The sales person reassured me that Idries Adams would contact me. A couple of days passed and still no phone call from Mr. Adams. The following day I received a called from the sales person who had been dealing with the matter to say that he spoke to Mr. Adam's who has advised that their products are only guaranteed for a period of 2 years and since we purchased our doors more than 5 years ago, there is nothing they can do and that if I wanted the matter resolved, I would have to reorder the doors at a discounted price. Lansdowne Boards took no responsibility for selling me an inferior product. When we purchased our kitchen doors we were under the impression that we were purchasing quality that would last. We were not told, nor did we expect that our white glossy doors would one day be cream and beige. Not all of them have discoloured, there are a few that have maintained their beautiful white high gloss appearance. In my opinion they should be taking this up with their supplier in an effort to resolve the matter, resulting in a happy customer. Our entire house is fitted with cupboards from Lansdowne Boards, but I can assure you, after receiving such poor service, I will not purchase another item from Lansdowne Boards again. I would like to warn other unsuspecting people out there to seek other options first. In my opinion, when purchasing products like kitchen cupboards, provided they haven't been mistreated, they should be made to last longer than the guaranteed 2 years. In these financial times who has money to refit their kitchen every 2 years? To me, this doesn't say much about the quality of their products or the ethics of the company and I am extremely unhappy and disappointed in the response that I received.

When I ordered doors for my kitchen cupboards and cupboard structures for elsewhere, the structures were listed individually on the invoice so I could check them before paying. However, the cupboard doors were all listed together with one square meterage amount, which I obviously couldn't check. I paid assuming that my verbal instructions were adhered to. When the cupboard doors arrived, there were a whole lot of additional cupboard doors that I had never requested. They say I wasn't specific enough, whereas I say that they made a mistake. They agreed to take them back in order to sell them for me, as they couldn't refund me!!!!! I agreed because they said that they were a popular spec and would go quickly. It has now been almost a year and I am still waiting for even one door to have been sold. Shocking service. They should really update their system so that cleints can see what their sales agents are capturing. Why should the client pay for items that they don't want without any way of checking?

Very poor service - stuff under-delivered or incorrect - we had to go back twice and the carpenter I hired couldn't finish the job. We now have the missing pieces but I have to rehire the carpenter at my expense even though it is Lansdowne Boards' fault. They refuse to pay.

I needed a custom table and a display stand for an exhibition and I spoke to Zogdy from Lansdowne Boards 2 weeks prior to the Expo. I sent him the design and measurements and he mentioned that this would be possible but due to the lead time, I might need to assemble it myself. I paid the R2900 deposit immediately to avoid any delays. My wife and I followed up with Zogdy and was told that there was insufficient time to make the display stand but they would still make the table. They also supplied 2 A0 boards. On the Fri before the Expo my wife went to collect the table and she was shown a ready made table and was told she could customize it to look the way I wanted. She brought the table to the expo where I started assembling it. At this point I realised it was the wrong table and some of the panels were too small. On the Saturday morning I took the cupboard back but was told they would not accept it back because I had started assembling it. I agreed to keep it and was refunded R500. I called another sales person and was quoted R1100 for the exact same table. They are refusing to give me feedback so I effectively have paid R2400 for a R1100 table and 2 boards. Extremely upset client
