Complaint Regarding Unsatisfactory Fridge Repair Service
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the fridge repair service provided by Brian and Alan from Lariam appliances on November 26, 2024, and again on December 2, 2024. Unfortunately, the issue I originally reported remains unresolved, and my attempts to resolve this matter have been met with frustration and unprofessional customer service.
On November 26, I explained to the technicians that the top section of my fridge was not cooling. After inspecting the appliance, Brian claimed the sensors needed replacing and quoted a cost of R3,100 for the repair. However, despite this, the problem was not addressed effectively. On December 1, I reported that the entire fridge had stopped cooling. Despite this escalation, Brian was sent again, despite my concerns about his apparent lack of experience with Bosch fridges.
Brian instructed me to turn off the fridge and restart it at 5 PM. After following his instructions, I discovered that not only was the top section still not cooling, but the middle and vegetable compartments were also unaffected.
This ongoing issue has caused me considerable frustration. The lack of clear communication regarding the root cause of the problem only added to my dissatisfaction. Seeking a resolution, I contacted a specialist technician with experience in Bosch fridges. Upon inspection, it became clear that the necessary repairs had not been performed, nor had any parts been replaced. The Lariam technicians had only tampered with the fridge, resulting in further damage to the fan, raising serious doubts about their competence and professionalism.
I am deeply concerned that no genuine effort was made to resolve the issue. Additionally, I am disheartened by the fact that they have taken my money and are now unreachable—my calls, emails, and WhatsApp messages have been ignored.
I am prepared to escalate this matter by reporting it to the SAPS and contacting local media outlets, including Claxton Newspapers, to raise awareness about substandard fridge repair services. I also strongly urge others to thoroughly review feedback and avoid service providers with poor reputations, unskilled technicians.
