Mr Daniel Van Zyl of Le Car Auto Investments advertised a 2001 CLK 420 on autotrader. I arranged to see it, and did so on 9 August 2021. I wrote him an email immediately after seeing it and told him "I was interested in the car" and "would get back to him". On the 10th August 2021 I contacted him about the car.
He told me it had been sold to someone else, and also that the owner of the car had subsequently said the car wasn't for sale, so the car is in fact not sold.
Mr Van Zyl presented himself as the agent of the owner. He then sells the car, by his own account to someone else, and THEN unsells it because the owner allegedly doesn't wish to sell the car.
It is annoying. It doesn't sound honest. I am certainly out out and have had my time wasted and been disappointed. The other person who bought the car - if this is actually true - has had a contract breached because Mr Van Zyl it seems, was not acting as a validly authorised agent.
All of this leaves a v v sour taste.
