Reserved a table for Christmas lunch today. Even though the views from the venue are lovely, the buffet was unimaginative and disappointing at R550 pp. The only time I saw my waiter during the two-hour meal was when he brought the wine and the bill. He had very little to do, as it was a buffet, but neglected even the basics such as pouring the wine and removing dirty plates. Overall a disappointing lunch, after spending R780 for one person.

We booked to stay their for Christmas and were told there is a minimum of 2 night stay. On the afternoon of the second day we were informed that they were closing! Yes..closing!! No kitchen service, no bar service, not even coffee would be available. In fact the staff were going home!! We decided to go home and they refused to give a refund stating that we were aware of the closure.

I selected this venue for my wedding. The initial experience was excellent, but after a while and the closer it got to my wedding date they took long to respond to emails and return phone calls. As such we had to phone up to five times to elicit a response. On the day of my wedding I left my handbag in the honeymoon suite during the ceremony and reception. The following day I realised that R600 was missing from my wallet. The subsequent response I received from the venue, after notifying them of the theft and phoning them several times to follow up was unsatisfactory. They insinuated that my family could be responsible for the theft. In addition, the deposit we received back after our wedding was less than what was agreed with us with no explanation for the additional deduction. Again we’re waiting for them to phone us back. Please be aware that this venue takes long to respond to emails and phone calls, will try to shift the blame and will wriggle themselves out of their responsibility to provide an excellent service to paying clients. I hope they can mend their relationship with me as I would like to recommend them . They have a wonderful establishment and a magnificent view that make for a beautiful wedding. Leopard Lodge - please fix your service delivery!

After a lovely wedding on Saturday night, our friends were on their way to their honeymoon suite where they were approached by the security guard telling them not to go in as four thugs had just broken into their room. The thugs had taken everything they could get their hands on and on top of that had broken into the brides fathers car as well! The bride and groom were then moved to another room and spent the night with police officers and the stress of the thugs maybe coming back for more. Apparently this has happened before, so my question to Leopard Lodge is, why haven't you made the necessary changes to your security to keep your guests safe? No1, you have no trellidors securing the front doors of any suite's, so if you know you have a problem with crime you should maybe think about doing that. No2, your staff have very bad attitudes, if we asked for anything, it was always a mission for them to help or to get etc, it was like they were doing us a favor! Well do us all a favor and put them through a polligraph test you'll soon get rid of the rubbish that puts your place in a bad light. Hope I can save another couple from a terrifying horrible experience.
