I booked Leriba coastal lodge (KZN) in September for December last year after I was impressed by the pictures on the RoomsForAfrica website, I paid the full amount of R19 350 for 5 nights, I was requested to pay a breakage deposit of R2 500 which I also paid in full. When we got there, the place did not meet our expectations because of the following reasons; 1. The sheets were dirty and we were advised by the cleaning staff that they could not change them because they only change sheets for people who stay for 7 days or more. 2. The toilet at room 2 was leaking. 3. The taps in the kitchen were loose and leaking. 4. The cleaning staff only swept the house and never mopped the house daily and hence we had to clean ourselves after they were done. 5. The blinds in every room were defected. 6. There were not enough glasses for everyone instead I was told that they will deduct money from my deposit for the missing glasses ( 1x White Wine Glass, 4x Champagne fluetes, 1x Whiskey Tumbler and 2x High Ball Glass). I acknowledged 2 glasses that accidentally broke during our stay. 7. The pool was in a shabby condition as well and needs maintenance. 8. Above all, I feel like I’ve been taken for granted because they are giving me a run around with my deposit which I was supposed to receive within 21 days after checking out... It’s day number 32 today and I still haven’t received a cent back.
