Shirley Moodley of Linkham/Europe assist underwritten by Genric who cover Bonita’s Medical aid clients for travel insurance as an added benefit, , has literally MOVED MOUNTAINS for us as Bonitas clients! This lady went out of her way to rescue a travel insurance application gone wrong, our son had already taken off for New York, already boarded the connecting flight to Dallas with no medical insurance in place! Shirley stepped in, and we have no idea how she managed to “twist the arm” of the underwriters to find it in their hearts to overlook the delayed application forms, which needed to be sent on time to activate cover, but Shirley went beyond the norm, and activated cover for our son! But then, as we sighed in relief, a few days later, our son injured his shoulder in a gym workout after landing in Dubai. Shirley Moodley once more rounded up the relevant teams to assist in compensating for medical costs in this regard, plus she extended cover till our sons return on the 16th May 2023! This lady needs to be dressed in a superwoman suit at all times, not to mention the capable team she managed to round up to our rescue-because as South Africans, (being usually accustomed to relatively average service), when we come across a person who runs the company affairs as if she owns it, coupled with passion, patience and understanding, it causes us to be in awe of such exemplary performance . (especially in the insurance industry). Our heartfelt thanks goes further to Thuli of Europe assist who remained in whatsapp contact with our son while he was in hospital for the Xrays, as well as Fikile who assisted with the necessary documents to be forwarded to submit the claim. Honestly it has been a long time since we have experience excellence of this calibre. Thanks to everyone truly, we are impressed and wish to take the opportunity to advise other clients and prospective clients to please ensure that prior to departure, make sure that all applications reach the insurer in good time, failing which cover may not be effected. And this is how life goes, the problems only arise when we fail to make provisions for the unexpected. Imagine having to fork out R7000 for an Xray in Dubai? And of-course please support EUROPE ASSIST, underwritten by Genric, Linkham and Bonitas Medical AID, and you will find yourself in good hands:)

A shocking customer service from Faradiba Allie and Joanne Perrera. We were told by Joanne the refund process would take 2 weeks. It is now 5 weeks later and we cannot even get a returned call. They also sent us an email saying they promise to confirm the outcome yesterday and apologized for the delay. We have still heard nothing. Absolutely shocking to treat customers this way for legitimate travel insurance claims while we sit out of pocket thinking the insurance we paid for, which we never thought we would use, is now leaving us in a bad financial situation. We will now be contacting our Advocate to advise us on our legal options should we not recieve confirmation today.

I had taken an insurance with Linkham since we were going to travel to Italy in March. Our country had went into lockdown at the time, therefore resulting in canceling our flights. I had duly submitted the required paper work to the person from the claims department as requested. In May I sent an emailing requesting a follow up on my claim with the response that the person was no longer working for the company. I then called and spoke to Joanne who said they cannot do anything because the airline states that we can still travel and that a refund will be given. I had responded by forwarding the email from the airline in which they do not give any refunds and I am unable to travel even during the extended period of travel for medical reasons. I have phoned countless times to speak to Joanne and sent several emails, all without a response. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism at Linkham. I would not recommend this insurance company to anyone.

Do not ever buy travel insurance from the One Stop Travel Group as they are associated with Linkham Travel who do not make buyers aware of the terms and conditons of the insurance. We bought travel insurance through One Stop for my daughters friend in case her USA visa was denied. We purchased the Insurance after we had submitted the visa application. Neither the lady from One Stop or Linkham Travel advise me that the policy would not pay out if it was taken after the visa application had been submitted. Why would I take out a travel insurance if I knew it was not going to be valid. They took my R1000 and are now stating that they cannot pay us because policy was taken out after visa application. Thieves the lot of them.

My son is a student in Mauritius and has Linkham Insurance who are only his Administrators/Managers for his Medical Aid. They are the most INCOMPETENT, INEFFICIENT Insurance Company. They did not show any compassion nor understanding of the urgency of my son requiring two major operations even after the ENT Specialist wrote letters to Linkham Insurance asking them to release the funds in order to carry out these very crucial operations on my son in 2018. My son had suffered paralysed vocal chords. He literally could not talk and Linkham Insurance (Mauritius) said they would NOT release the money for the operations to be carried out by a renowned ENT Specialist in South Africa who had being treating my s on for over a year. My son is South African student studying in Mauritius with no family to take care of him post the operations. Instead they said the operations could be done in Mauritius. I was appalled by their lack of understanding that it took two years by an ENT for the diagnosis with treatment but my son was still very sick and required urgent operations. I had to step in as his mother and I promised to sue them. Linkham Insurance lacks wisdom, compassion, all they are worried about is making money. They do not even keep their word stated on their terms and conditions that funds can be released anywhere in the world for medical reasons. Their policy states that funds can be released for medical reasons anywhere in the world. But until I stepped in they were refusing to release the funds. That was in 2018. Eventually after I stood for my son's rights they released the funds. Since 2018 I have been paying upfront for my son's medical treatment with the understanding that they would refund when we submit the claims with attachments of payments done with receipts. He has requested for refunds with written emails and hard copies posted to Linkham, which they have ignored since 2018. They claim the correspondence was lost in the mail, But what about the written emails. My son has forwarded the emails. Last week Wednesday (15 May 2019) I had to call Mauritius from South Africa asking Linkham Insurance to release what doesn't belong to them, but rightfully what belongs to my son (HIS MONEY). They literally cut me all my calls after I shouted at them regarding their incompetence and ridiculous appalling behaviour. Please people be aware of Linkham Insurance, they are NOT good in handling medical funds. Their staff has no compassion. They are a law unto themselves. DOWN WITH LINKHAM INSURANCE IN MAURITIUS.
