Booking 18 Dec 2017 to 2 January 2018. Pictures on website did not indicate filthy unit that requires complete overall replacement from furniture, bedding, kitchen utencils, curtains, electrical goods. We were booked into a unit that required a good clean with a number of goods to be replaced. The gas braai was almost disfunctional, washing machine did not work properly, fridge needed a good clean, was dirty and mouldy, did not work properly as perishables were freezing, curtains were filthy, kitchen cupboard doors needed a clean, window sills black with sute, broom and mop were unacceptably filthy (these were replaced), bedroom pillows were disguting (these were replaced). The first day we used the washing machine, it flooded the liunge, dining room and area near the bathroom. Phond Belinda for assistance andshe sent over help toclean all the water, apparently the water pipe has not been put back into the outlet pipe. Oven kept tripping, could not use, shower and bath was dirty, kitchen utencils dirty. bathroom door did not close, lounge suite - dirty and required sponge on the couch. I have pics to substantiate. I requested discount and was declined with the reason that the unit was discounted when we initially booked. No matter what we paid, the unit should have been clean when we booked in. Belinda at Margate Holiday Homes had her ladies attend to some of the things but not all but did not go out of her way, was not friendly and she could've visited the unit to see for herself. Obviously her ladies did not tell her everything truthfully as they were responsible fo cleaning prior to our arrival. I have requested the owners contact details to make them aware of what their unit looks like but this information has not been forthcoming.
