Upon arrival on Thursday night there were loadshedding. Obviously out of the control of such a well-known Hotel. Just to be informed the hotel's backup generator was faulty. With black tiles in the rooms in the bathrooms there is no visibility at all. No emergency lights in the passageways, or staircases were functioning. No form of lights, not even candles in the rooms. The cherry on top of the cake, and all, was the attitude of the staff who only pulled up their shoulders. Yet there was no end to the misery - Friday morning load shedding again. Again, complete darkness. not even a candle. The attitude of the staff a disgrace.

Disappointing again! Unfortunately despite convenient location will now consider other options due to poor service - shocking check in experience with Lonwaba, unstable Wifi and poor room and bar service. Had thought previous poor experience was once-off but second time now supports a lack of hotel management.

Attended a conference there this week. Very professional. Conference Snacks really good and the lunch was really delicious. Upmarket but one still feels relaxed and welcoming.

I am so disappointed in the service I received from Maslow hotel in Sandton especially because I am a potential client that they could have had. I am shattered, hurt and words can’t describe the treatment I got. I called Maslow hotel on the 14th of October 2021, I spoke to a lady who seemed rather confused and couldn’t help with booking a venue for a surprise birthday on their outside garden area, she hung up and I was discouraged. A few minutes later I receive a call from Amoré Ansar who is the food and beverage coordinator and coordinate’s venue bookings as well, she took down all my details and said I can come in at ANY TIME ( I’ve highlighted anytime because I was not told I had to make an appointment) I alert the lady that I will come in the following week to see the garden area and to sort out the food menu for the day Amoré Ansar said it will not be a problem on that same day I then got an email of the booking I had reserved with all the information I needed but some information needed me to have a one on one with Amoré Ansar. I went to Maslow hotel Sandton on the 20th of October 2021, as per the call I rushed there from Aucklandpark, when I get there I don’t find anyone by the entrance of the restaurant and I had to wonder around looking for staff to help me, I spoke to a lady I eventually found who told me I had to speak to Amoré Ansar and works with appointments, on my phone call with Amoré Ansar a Week before, she did not mention me making an appointment and even the email didn’t mention appointments, they hand me her card and I call her immediately, she is disinterested on the phone, I felt like I was nothing, she told me, someone she doesn’t know who is a potential client that she has left and she’s not about to drive back just for me. So I tell her that this was not communicated with me before and why is it that I have to hear of it now, she doesn’t answer me, she then says I can come in the next day at 11am which unfortunately I can’t because I’m also at work, I ask to make an appointment for Monday 25th of October 2021, at 11am and that was agreed. Amoré Ansar then says to me that she will call me back on my number the next day to check if I can have my surprise birthday. The next day I don’t receive a call as promised and at 13:46 I called and to my surprise she didn’t firstly remember me and we had had 2 long calls now, she checks if the garden area is available meaning she didn’t even bother doing it as she had promised, she then gives me the unfortunate news that the garden area is booked for a shoot. What really made me angry was how this booking was not picked up 2 weeks ago when I made my booking. Amoré Ansar Made me feel so small that she didn’t consider me and she doesn’t even know me, I don’t know if it’s because I am black or what but I got the worst customer see from her, and from Maslow as a whole, I had high hopes of this hotel and thought it’s one of the prominent places in Sandton but I was wrong. I am very discouraged and sad, hurt, miserable and disappointed. I am angry and had considered taking this matter to social media. I’m not sure what the criteria is to hire staff in Maslow but their customer service deserves a minus figure, I’m humiliated by this place. I will be alerting friends and family not to even consider going to stay there or host events there. They will treat you like rubbish and a rotten potato that they just want to get away. I’ve never been so angry and humiliated like this. Very very disappointing

Very poor service, booked a table they tell us we didn't book. Finally got a table and service was slow and terrible. Literally put outside out of site out of mind. And we were guests at the hotel. Never staying here again.

We chose the Maslow for lunch Sunday 11 October 2020 because social distancing would be possible. At 13h00 we ordered 1 Rooibos tea, extra pot boiling water and cold milk + coke lite, ice and a straw. At 13h30 we were brought Vanilla Rooibos and coke lite - no milk, no extra water, no ice, no straw. The tea was changed for Rooibos and the waitress brought hot milk, not cold as ordered. We ordered a steak and a fish meal. We complained to the supervisor Kgiso that the staff in the kitchen were making a terrific noise with loud talking. There were only 5 people in the restaurant but at 13h50, we went to see why the food was taking so long. Our waitress had entered the meals on the computer and even explained to the chef Keletso not to add spices to the steak or chips. But at 13h55 we discovered that the order hadn't been captured by the system and we left without having eaten. There were 2 ladies in the restaurant who left as well; they had been there since 13h15 and still didn't have their food. Covid has hit the tourist industry hard but when a restaurant can't serve 5 people, one wonders what hope there will be for the establishment. We certainly have no intention of returning.

Terrible experience at the Maslow in Sandton. Went there to have lunch with the family. Struggled to get a waiter to serve us. We were served by the first waiter who said she needed to attend the function which was happening at the same time. She said she would send someone to assist but we had to go enquire of which the waiters were arguing amongst themselves not wanting to serve us. People that came in after us got served and had their meals and left...over an hour later no food served. Managed to get second round of drinks of which that waiter didn't have compassion at all and did not even clear our table. We eventually decided to pay for the drinks and cancel the food order and left. We have frequented the Maslow several times in the past with no issues however today was a total disappointment.
