Disappointed in Maynard’s sweets

I bought a packet of sweets for my son on Sunday 23, January 2022. We found some strange brown, leathery object inside. I was in such shock. What if he ate it and got sick?! Why would something like that be in the packet? How would it make its way into the packet? How do the sweets get packaged for this to happen. I have emailed them with no response.
