McD Training Centre Is Failing Its Apprentices – Stay Away!

I started my millwright apprenticeship with McD Training Centre in 2023, and from day one, it was a disaster.

The facilitators were not prepared to teach – in fact, they didn't seem to care at all. Most of the time, we had to teach ourselves. There was no proper structure, no learning support, and no guidance. It was like we were wasting time sitting in a classroom for no reason.

The admin side was just as bad. When I arrived, my file wasn’t even ready. It felt like no one knew I was coming. How does a training center accept students and not have their paperwork in order?

I was placed at a company for on-the-job training, and not ONCE did anyone from McD visit or follow up with me to check on my progress, my safety, or whether I was even being trained properly. I was completely left on my own.

But the moment I was late with a payment, they were quick to threaten to deregister me. So where is the same energy when it comes to providing actual training and support?

Now I have only 6 months left before I’m supposed to finish, and there's still no real progress. No trade test preparation, no proper support, nothing.

This institution is playing with people’s futures. They’re quick to take your money, but give you nothing in return. I wouldn’t recommend McD Training Centre to anyone serious about their future. It’s been nothing but disappointment from start to finish.
