Extremely unsatisfactory and frustrating service after visiting as private patient. No medication, no diagnosis just prescription and told to return should I not feel better. After 3 weeks I'm feeling worse

I applaud the evidently understaffed nursing staff who do their best to see to everybody's needs. I have no complaints against them. When it comes to security, however, the hospital fails. My wallet was ****** out of my bag inside a locker in ACU that had a broken lock. I was not given the option to leave my valuables with security seeing as my allocated locker could not lock. I opened a case with SAPS and got a case number. Now the hospital want to wash its hands of this case. Surely I should be compensated for my loss since my bank cards and drivers licence and ID cards now all need replacement. My wallet was a genuine leather Guess foldable and a family heirloom. I think it in very bad taste for the hospital to stand back from this

I walked into casualty with a note from my family physician on Friday afternoon regarding chest pains I have being experiencing. My family and I were treated with total disrespect and lack of empathy at admissions from the ladies. Onica, at admissions really needs to be trained on how to deal with people and taught empathy in the role she performs ( dealing with people with medical emergencies). She was speaking so loud about paying upfront before I could be attended to by the real professionals, that her colleague at admissions had to chip in with her 2 cents about payments before being seen too. The other patients and people there had to hear how much it cost and then she explains the plan I am on, as if I am ********. That was totally unprofessional. I rep**** that I am fully aware of my plan and how it works. I was experiencing chest pains, my little son and wife was with me. They were scared for my health, nervous and anxious about what was going on. She later tells my wife "people take other medication and then come complaining of chest pains". I was attended to by a very empathetic doctor (Shen), who tried to reassure me that I would be fine. Shange, the nurse was attentive to my needs and attempted to make me comfortable as possible. Austin, the professional nurse, needs to be retrained in administrating drips as it felt like a spear going into my hand. Overall I left with the chest pains I came in with, and paid a lot of money to be disrespected by a few *********** individuals. I could not get admitted due to a physician who did not see me, decide that I needed to pay a further R13000 for a scan and depending on those results then , I would possibly be admitted. I was absolutely disgusted with the treatment at Mediclinic Morningside. If you are having chest pains, I would not recommend Mediclinic Morningside hospital.

Worst casualties I have ever experienced. We needed urgent medical care and they said we must just wait. Only 5 people in the waiting room and a 3hour wait for help. I will they stipulated on communication board if you are in cerious pain you had to inform the nursing staff. After an hour of waiting only one person was helped. You have to go through a nurse and then she will decide your urgency. My mom of 75 dislocated her shoulder which were fractured in several places. She was in agony. We decided to find other options. We were send to lude Wilgeheuwel and and she received immediate care. Her blood pressure was 200 over 110 due to the pain. I will never recommend anybody to that casualty

Negligent. I could write out my entire experience, but essentially the take away would be that this hospital is negligent and I encourage anyone with a family member that cannot speak for themselves not to be admitted here. There were some fantastic nurses, however the bad outweighs the good when it comes to this hospital. Being admitted to this hospital was one of my most traumatising experiences.

Terrible hospital service from Dr Glen Tshukuma. He has no time for his patients. Only interested in making money from the medical aid. Had to be in the ward for 28 hours before a doctor (Dr G Tshukuma) came to see me. The longer the doctor keeps you in hospital the more money the doctor and hospital makes… Furthermore the doctor never submitted my meds with the proper documentation to the medical aid for my chronic to be approved. I followed up telephonically and in person with the doctors rooms over 5 times in total. No joy…. The doctor never returns calls because he has already got his money from the medical aid. Discovery should seriously reconsider keeping Morningside Medi-Clinic as their approved network hospital

At 2am on Saturday I went to the ER with chest pains, cranial pressure, swollen hands and feet and a high d.dimer. I was turned away by the reception staff without seeing a doctor because my MSA was depleted. My medical aid covers 200% hospital and as this was an emergency- couldn’t really plan ahead. It’s really appalling and negligent how they treat people.

We would like to thank all the nursing staff and doctors at Mediclinic Morningside for an incredible experience during our recent emergency visit. Thank you to the following nurses that attended to me 24/7, sisters Jullitha, Bhakti, Louise, Teddy and Beauty. My 5 day stay at the hospital was incredible due to the beautiful ladies that are so kind, caring and compassionate. Thank you all so so so much.
