Extremely Disappointed with Service at Toyota Menlyn My daughter, who turns 21 this year, recently began the exciting journey of buying her first car. She is financially responsible, holds a stable job with a good income, and is planning to further her studies at university later this year. Wanting to ensure she approached this process responsibly, she met with a very helpful and professional consultant at Nedbank Menlyn to determine exactly what she could afford before visiting any dealerships. She came across a Daihatsu Terios advertised by Toyota Menlyn and decided to go view the vehicle. However, upon arriving at the dealership, she was shocked to learn that the price of the vehicle had been increased by nearly R20,000. After spending three hours at the dealership, she was told that she couldn't afford the vehicle – despite already confirming her affordability with her bank. To make matters worse, the Nedbank consultant called her afterward, concerned that she was being taken advantage of. He informed her that the market value of the vehicle is less than R60,000, yet Toyota Menlyn is advertising and trying to sell it for more than double that amount. I fully understand that dealerships need to make a profit, but marking a vehicle up by nearly 200% is ********* and deeply disappointing. This experience has left a very bad impression. As a parent, I’m saddened that my daughter’s first car-buying experience was marred by poor service and what feels like a predatory pricing tactic aimed at a young first-time buyer. I expected more integrity from a reputable brand like Toyota. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to Toyota Menlyn – young, informed buyers deserve honesty, respect, and transparency.

I booked my bakkie in for basic service on the 21/05/2025 but they were fully booked and they got it booked for Monday 26/05/2025. I got to dealership at 7:10 and it got booked at around 7:30 or so. Since waiting there doing some of my work, I never got any feedback or updates on what's happening with it. I decided to leave for menyln at around 13:00 hoping to get it done when I return. I went back at 3:00 still no luck. I sat there ensuring that the service consultant sees me but hey... He was just busy helping other people. At almost 4pm,i decided to approach him, he only told me he's going to check how far it is. I was just invisible to the guy huh. My patiency was off, but I just had to hold myself. He came to me after quite some time and say in an hour, my bakkie will be OK. Mind you is almost 4pm that time. I sat there while busy releasing other customers cars who even came after me in the morning and many of them. At 5:35 he then called me to his desk for invoice, trust me I was the last customer in the floor were one of the guy from the workshop was even surprised when he see me still there, as he saw me earlier when dropping my car. The poor guy went to collect my car and hand it over to me and ask if I had gate pass which I was not given. He arranged my pass so I LEFT DEALERSHIP AT 5:56PM. POOR TREATMENT I EVER HAD

I bought Toyota auris 25 September 2024 cash at NMI Toyota Menlyn. I went to the dealership a couple of times for the faults that were discovered on the vehicle and which I had 6 months warranty only to find out yesterday that my 6 months warranty expired which is not even 6 months yet I had a bad experience yesterday when I had to service my car I booked the car for 06 February 2025 at 09:00 which was took in for service and I waited 6 hours for the car to be serviced and Rosina pete the service consultant was rude using vulgar language and they made extra changes on the car without my consent which comes with extra charges.my complement goes to TJ the supervisor who went an extra mile to assist me with everything.

False Advertising. They post vehicles on Autotrader at a very low price. Upon contacting the dealership for the advertised vehicles, it's usually sold, BUT they can send you a quotation. Upon receipt of the quotation, it's more than R88 000 higher than the advertised price. The advertised price is thus used as bait only, in order for them to quote you much more expensive for the exact same vehicle. I'm surely reporting the matter to the Competition Commission

I had an amazing experience at NMI Toyota Menlyn and this all thanks to Nontsikelelo Hlatshwayo. She kept me updated, she is very kind and she will do everything she can to assist a Toyota client. Nontsikelelo made me feel like I was the only client NMI Toyota Menlyn had. I really do recommend that Toyota NMI give her a raise and a huge bonus because she truly is amazing. The service was great, but the guys that washed the exterior of the car could've done a better job, but I understand that it could've a time issue. The interior was great, they did a great job. Overall I am happy with the service I got from NMI Toyota Menlyn... Oh and one more thing GIVE NONTSIKELELO HLATSHWAYO A SALARY RAISE AND A BIG FAT BONUS BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW TO TREAT A CLIENT PROPERLY!!! 9.5/10 is my score for them.
