I bought land and as adviced went to apply for water and electricity installation. That was in August 2024, The ladies at the window were not very keen on helping, anyways that is a story for another day. My issue is, when I opened my account, I asked the lady that was helping me, so how much do I have to pay, she told me you have to apply for water and electricity and they will tell you how much you need to pay, so I asked if there was anything I needed to pay for opening the account, her response was and I quote, "no Sisi, you can't pay for anything if you don't have water and electricity and if there is anything for you to pay, you will receive monthly statements on your email." I have never received any email statements and only today I receive an SMS telling me I owe R6000, of which it doesn't even explain what it is I owe for until I asked one of my friends what it means only to find out that they **** to me, because every month I am meant to pay at that time I don't even know how much I am meant to pay every month.

Paying electricity every month but they send a letter saying you owe R38 000 no proof or explanation on how they got to that amount. Am being told to make an arrangement. Anyone with the CEO or manager's email adress please share because today i went to their office and no help.

Midvaal local municipality does not want to come to to a mutual agreement with pensioners. They have deprived them of their right to electricity and want ridiculous lump sums from them. They've switched off and blocked electricity for over a month now because we owe, we went there and told them we can do monthly payments but they want 20k from us upfront

Slowest turnaround time ever, 2 years later. no response. phones are not picked up. I try to drive there, they are all out for training. same thing all the time

It's so sad to know while people are preparing for elections. We are 3 days without water. I am based at Savanna city. Just moved to our new home except it hasn't been all Rosey. Sunday morning water wa finished. Went to pick n pay to buy water voucher. Came back to load for the first time. Mind you, I only moved to the place last week. Could not load the voucher. Tried numerous times then I checked the displayed meter number on the meter remote (loading machine) it had different meter number to what we have on the meter box outside. Called municipal early hours of Monday morning. Some lady assisted and said because I get home late. Lady who assisted advised me call at 4pm to log the ticket so they can come when I come back from work. I call just before 4pm to log a ticket. Then I'm given REF0063/27/05/2024: Faulty pre-paid meter. I state I am available from 7pm. I call before 7pm spoke to Vanessa. I'm told my ticket is already logged for 7pm. I call 15 min after 7pm. I'm told turn around time is 4 to 8 hours. I already called in the morning and was told to get ticket later because if Marine Puso logged ticket in the morning. Technician was gonna come right away and I was at work. To this day, this morning. I am still without water. I am unable to load the voucher I bought. The service received is uncalled for. Had I been provided with correct metering first place all this would have been avoided. I understand human error. However I am the one who is in convinced right now.

I am saddened that the Municipality waste collectors broke my dustbin and now, I am told that the Municipality does not issue dustbin anymore and advised me to purchase my own dustbin which I did not break. Taking into consideration the rate and taxes that I pay for and then I am refunded for my damaged bin. I try to explain to then that I did not break the bin but is the waste collectors. Now NY house and yard are full of flies because of the broken bin. I also mentioned the health hazard due to the open bin and this may affect my kids health. After they responded that I need to buy myself a bin, I am really disappointed in the Midvaal Municipality, nothing with them is of good customer service.
