Milpark Education (Pty) Ltd changed the learning platform to Canvas starting with the 2026 academic year. I got informed that the Canvas platform was hacked in this year. Please investigate if this was reported to the Information Regulator in terms of POPIA and confirm the reference number and outcome by the Information Regulator. Further to this, The Invigilator App, replaced Proctorio, from the start of the 2026 academic year, to monitor the online exams being written via the Milpark website. I was suppose to write Commercial Property and Business Interruption which is a 3rd year Subject to complete my B.Com Short Term Insurance degree with Milpark on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. I did the pre-test and The Invigilator was working during the pre-test which can be confirmed by Milpark by viewing my access to the Milpark website. However, this morning, I could not access the Exam, it seems that The Invigilator App was either updated and/or all the steps to be followed to activate the The Invigilator App through the Milpark Website was not working. I contacted the Milpark Support Helpdesk for assistance, and after 40-minutes of trying to assist me, after which my exam session already started. I was informed by Milpark Support that I must submit a Deferral to the Academic Committee of Milpark Education to request to rewrite the exam, pay R350 and attach all evidence, as it was already 30-minutes after the start of the Exam session and I will not be allowed to start the exam session, even if I was able to login. I took screen shots of all the communication. I again watch the video which shows how to access The Invigilator App and the steps in the video did not correspond with what The Invigilator App required from me to do. I even received an error message when trying to load The Invigilator App/website that there is an error with "given permission to enable notifications". I had to ask an independent IT-technician to assist me and he found it very strange that the error message appeared. I am very, very disappointed in Milpark Education. I was granted x2 days Study Leave (Monday, 25 May 2026) and Exam Leave (Tuesday, 26 May 2026). I now need to convert these days to annual leave, which is depleting my annual leave. I am suffering now from severe anxiety and depression due to my hard work to prepare and study for the Exam. Why can Milpark not resolve issues with their platforms/website etc. to ensure that students can write the exams without any system issues? Why not go back to writing exams at venues? I had to buy a new laptop which is Windows11 compatible to ensure that I am ready to writing exams with Milpark. All of this adds up to expenses which Milpark seems to not take into consideration. I demand a formal apology from Milpark and to refund me the R350.00 and to ensure that their platforms/websites/apps etc which they use are 100% in working order. Milpark likes to go quite in circumstances like these, and hide behind their online environment.
Best regards,
