Booked my car in as per their instructions to have a leak in my cars aircon detected and repaired, after leaving it with them previously where they told me there was a leak but they couldn’t find it. Firstly got told I hadn’t made an appt but after I reminded him of the conversation one of the staff agreed I had. The first chap, took offence at my light hearted banter - and was extremely rude. So rude that I took my keys, crumpled up the form and left. Asked on a community group if there were other workshops in Ballito only to have about 5 more people coming through to me telling me they had experienced the same. It seems to be mainly women he is rude to. Will never go back there.

I am trying my best to sort this issue out with Motolek, Vredenburg.. I have been as patient as can be and as kind as possible. In 2021 we got our Hyundai H100 starter motor repaired at Motolek Vredenburg.. excellent service and the reconditioned starter lasted a very long time. April 2024 the starter motor stopped working.. 2 May 2024 my friend, a mechanic, took the starter out and i took it into Motolek, the lady working in the workshop told me that they will not be able to do a repair again and suggested i buy a new one. I accepted it and she got me a new starter for R1600 14 May 2024 I picked up the new starter at Motolek. it seemed smaller than the original but i figured parts change as technology changes and i trusted that the lady knew what she was doing. I took the starter to my mechanic that same day. 15 May 2024 - I have a message from the mechanic saying that he was in Vredenburg and he gave his helper the instruction to install the starter as soon as possible as i needed to use the truck for a delivery.. when i drove away from the mechanic i began to hear a serious scratching sound coming out of the gear box area or starter motor location area. I have messages to back this event. I sent the mechanic a message and he ask that i bring it in again, we removed the starter and there was serious damage on the bendix teeth from the ring gear of the flywheel. on the 28 May 2024 I went to Motolek to explain my situation.. they would not help me unless i brought the truck in. I told them that i could not afford to bring the tuck in.. i stay in Hopefield, approximately 35km from Vredenburg, i work for an NPO (not profit organization) Hope Empowerment, and the truck is to help Hope Farm which is a drug rehabilitation center. the lady at the workshop insisted that i have to bring it in.. she said i have a ring gear or flywheel problem. 19 June 2024 I had to tow the H100 truck from the mechanic because he needed the space and i had not had the time or finances to get another starter motor yet.. because of the damage to the starter, i was told by Motolek that they could not refund me. 26 August 2024 i accepted that and asked if i could get then a new one again for Hyundai H100. the lady ordered another one giving me a price of R1200. i accepted it and it arrived 28 August 2024 I fitted the starter myself, and immediately realized it was not going to work.. something was not right.. so i took the liberty of doing research and reading up and watching videos and learning about starter motors etc. on the 5th September 2024 I asked a friend if he would stop at Hyundai in Vredenburg and ask them if they had shimz for their starter motors because i thought maybe if i added shimz it would help with the issue.. my issue was that the bendix seemed too close to the flywheel and it was evident that if i start the truck, the same thing would happen as did before. My friend was told by Hyundai that they had no such parts. and they directed my friend to go look maybe at Motolek, Vredenburg. when he got there he phoned me and said to me that the lady at Motolek said to him that she knew my situation and problem and that she told me I had a flywheel, and ring gear problem, and that there was no problem with the starter motor she sold me.. I spoke to her on the phone again and told her i dont agree and that there must be another problem. 19 September 2024 - i finally had proof that both starter motors Motolek had sold me were the wrong starter motors. They now refuse to meet with me, they have both the starter motors in their possession. I have asked for a refund on atleast the none starter motor as i am fully aware the other is damaged, but the last one has absolutely no damage. the lady at the workshop promised me a refund on the one starter motor. 23 September 2024 - I sent motolek a message following up on my refund as i had not received any refund yet in the bank account i gave them. after no response, i tried phoning them to speak with the lady who worked in the workshop, she was unavailable. specifically she was in the managers office. 1 October 2024 - i phoned again the follow up on the refund, only to hear that the lady no longer works for Motolek and i get told that she was suppose to tell me that the refund was not possible because i did not bring the part back within 7 days of the purchase. I asked the lady on the phone if i could come see their supervisor. the lady on the phone said she will only be available in the afternoon after lunch. I asked if i come the afternoon will she meet with me, she answered yes. She said that it would be good if i came in to give my side of the story. she said on the phone that she would message me when her supervisor was there so that i would not waste time coming for no reason. i did not receive a message, so i took the liberty of going to Motolek at 3pm 1 October 2024. when I arrived there, the lady who i spoke to on the phone, went into the supervisor's office to ask if i could come see her, and she shouted from the office to her, I AM BUSY I CAN"T SEE ANYONE NOW. i heard it clearly from the loby. the lady, VERY EMBARRASSED, came out and said i will need to make an appointment. so i said ok, can i make one for 3pm Thursday 3 October 2024.. 2 days from now. this is my full report/review.. thank you.

Losing money is not enjoyable for anyone. My mechanic took my Chevrolet Spark starter for reconditioning, costing R1900.00. However, the reconditioned starter only barely worked for two days before failing. The company refuses to refund me and offers numerous excuses. The faulty starter is back with them "armature is burnt", and they can't provide a timeline for the repair. Meanwhile, I had to buy an aftermarket starter so that i can drive a car that functions properly and it works perfectly. What frustrates me the most is that they try to blame their poor workmanship on the clients.

Today I had the pleasant experience of visiting Motolek for my car Aircon. As soon as I entered I was greeted by an indeed pleasant and helpful Wynand.Together with his colleagues they were most helpful and efficient as well as most warm and friendly.Very rarely these days do we get such good customer service.Well done to them and wish them further success.

Eversince I took my car to Motolek Lenasia about two months ago it has been having problem after problems. I take good car of my car and periodically have it checked with a diagnostic machine, but what is happening now is a rip off and a scam. I drive in to Motolek with one problem and come out with another. But the most important one is the last service I got from Motolek my car was having a EIS problem diagnosed by Motolek lenasia and they promised to replace it with a new one at a price of R5500 including labor, but when the car was ready for collection I tried to start it it wouldn't start and the owner said it was not part of the problem because he did the job which we agreed on. The problem is when I took it into Motolek it was having difficulty starting thus he confirmed that his diagnosis was correct but now the car is done and finished he said it was ready but I could not get it running at Motolek and they witnessed That but told me it's not related to the problem they fixed how I don't know? But we had a disagreement until he said I must leave the car and collect it the next day and I came back the next day after they called to say they found the fault. When I arrived I was told my wiring to the Computer box is full of oil.,but they fixed whatever they can and the car was starting. After discussions I tried to start the car it was not starting but it was time for them to close for the day around 5pm.I was left with one of the guy outside who works at Motolek while waking to have my car towed home as I have paid Motolek R5500 for a problem not solved. We tried everytthing with the guy to get the car running and finally succeeded after about 2hours. The manager (Vickrim) doesn't want to take responsibility for the poor workmanship as I took the car for a second opinion and it was fod that my wiring could not have had oil on them as the was nothing to push the oil to the ECU the only suspicion was it was done deliberately to mislead me.

I was travelling through north Umhlanga to Richard's bay for holiday and then realised that my blinkers were not working, so I looked up the nearest autoshops and picked one at random so I do not get stopped. Already had a close call on the N2 without them. Anyways, I went here after calling really quickly to see if they take new people in, and they saw me immediately. After about an hour (I went off to a nearby mall in a friend's car) they called me saying that it was fixed. The only thing that needed to be done was fix a switch with a short circuit by disassembling the front end of my car and then reassembling it. All of that took less than the hour, but they just wanted to make some round checks. I was expecting to be hit with a R1000+ bill because of all that they did, but they only charged me R200... I was shocked. I honestly thought it was a typo, but they did not charge much for labor. Honestly, i wish I had one of these kinds of shops in Port Elizabeth. I wish I could give these guys more business because it is so rare that real mechanics service your car without doing a bunch of extra fixes to add to the bill. They are amazing and anyone living in the area should consider them. I think this was in Ballito.

I had my car in for repairs through an Outsurance claim at Domestic Spray and Repair. Repairs on my car were completed, as I was about to leave Domestic Spray and Repair, I noticed my petrol cap wasnt closed and it wouldnt close. Domestic Spray contacted Outsurance to ask them if they would let a diagnostic company check if the issue was related to my claim. Domestic Spray and Repair outsourced this to Motolek. Motolek provided a report that my Accuator needed replacing. Domestic told me what it would cost and there would be a labour charge. I decided to order the product myself and asked a friend to install it. My friend figured out that the Accuator part was not needed and it was a very simple fix which he did by himself. I am now short R927.71 which Hyundai will not reimburse. So what if I had booked my car in, I can assume that I would've had to pay for a part that was never needed plus a labour charge. Never being wiser that I was scammed. Can assume because I'm female I dont know anything about cars (which I dont) but I at least never booked it in. I've appealed to Motolek, Domestic Spray and Repair and Outsurance for assistance to resolve this and no one has taken any responsibility or assistance in this matter. Motolek continue to ignore me. I'm shocked that they can take advantage and dont even bother replying.
