AVOID MSB PROJECTS AT ALL COSTS
I must write to warn you if you are thinking of using Bevan van Rooyen from MSB Projects. I was referred to him by someone in the BTE group and I have lived to regret it. A shocking waste of money, that I will probably never recover from him. When he came to have a look at my leaking skylight he informed me that he was the best waterproofer in Cape Town. So I accepted his R11,200.00 quote. The skylight leaked as badly afterwards and I contacted him to say that his workers had not completed the job. He came back once, the worker went on the roof, did a bit of painting and then left. The skylight leaked as badly as before, but this time, when I tried to contact him he promised to come through and never arrived. Asked my son to call, the same thing, but he never arrived. Kept calling him from other numbers over a period of months but he kept ignoring my number and messages. Nothing helped. So I got a professional in who was shocked at the workmanship A very thin layer of flash Harry had been applied that was of no use at all, the layer was too thin and his workers left a rough porous surface that absorbed more water. They also closed up the water channels which then led the water under the roof tiles. Where the tiles overlapped, his workers left gaping holes, they never tried to fill them. This is a business that has no ethics at all. AVOID at all costs before you lose your money.

WARNING: Bevan van Rooyen of MSB Projects is 100% dishonest. DO NOT USE!
WARNING: Following my enquiries into other people's experiences using Bevan van Rooyen of MSB Projects, I was shocked at the negative feedback. My own experience is very negative so I'd thought I'd share this warning so you don't have to suffer the same. To cut a long story short, we paid a deposit of R16 000 in November 2021 for a fairly simple revamp of a staircase in my home. Since then no materials or work ever materialised, he's very good at excuses and dodging calls. It's now April 2022. End result is I'm having to take legal action. It's not only the money he's stolen but by principle I feel compelled to act against his blatant dishonesty and general lack of ethics. So by all means use or don't use this information, but you have been warned.

Most terrible experience!
A friend used to work for this company and that’s why we chose it. Terrible mistake. Geyser was put from inside our roof to the outside onto the wall of the house. Geyser fell down after a couple of days, pipes burst and they fixed it. After a couple of weeks a pipe leaked at the geyser. Bevan came, stated he’s officially still on leave and only back to work on Monday. But he will come back the same day and fix it. We have never heard of him again. Total ignorance of phone calls and texts. That was just the geyser story. While they were busy with they geyser, they also fixed a leak in our entrance. It took them months!!! to do that right. With every new rain, water started to leak through again. I am already horrified about the next rainy season. One can just hope it has really been fixed.

Shockingly Bad
Absolutely shocking quality of work. I will basically have to redo almost all of the work MSB Projects has done. They couldnt even paint the walls and doors properly. Untrained workers were almost entirely unsupervised. A heartbreaking waste of my time and money.

Beyond the call of duty
I engaged Bevan van Rooyen to carry out maintenance & repair work in a rental house which I own. The project involved a few other contractors, and this initially gave rise to some dissatisfaction with progress. However, this was eventually resolved, and the work was concluded satisfactorily. On the day I was due to sign off the contract, the premises were broken into and malicious damage to property caused flooding, which Bevan spotted while passing, and he stepped heroically into the breach and did all he could to rectify the situation. I live 30 km away, and am supremely grateful for his intervention. Bevan, take a bow!
