More than TERRIBLE Hospitality at NIKOS Modderfontien

This is something that happened to me recently and it bothers me. My family and I went to NIKOS in Modderfontein for a celebratory dinner. When arriving and placing our order, not only did they not have anything we wanted on the menu, they also did not have any manners when approached to ask why.

After finally placing an order of food they did have, we waited about an hour for the food to arrive. Because the food was taking so long, my family and I could not help looking over at the kitchen from time to time. When we saw our meal coming out of the kitchen, as excited as kids to eat, the next bad thing happened.... The waiter proceeded not only to pick up the food to serve to us, but also to eat the chips right off the plate before we had even gotten our meal.

It's an unpleasant feeling that shouldn't happen when you are paying so much for food and service.

To end off the night, the waiter then proceeded to clear up the table well before we were even done with dinner. When a server clears a plate before everyone is finished, he or she leaves the table with a mess of subtle but important signals. Those who are still eating are made to feel as though they are holding others up; those who are not are made to feel as though they have rushed the meal. What was originally a group dining experience becomes a group exercise in guilt.

So thank you NIKOS for the most awful dinner of my life.
