I am deeply disappointed with the way this school treats our child. In February, our son was pushed by another learner and lost his teeth. The tooth has not grown back, and the school did nothing about it. His teacher ( Mrs Layna Macfarlane) once tore a card he was making for me and told him she didn’t care when he tried to explain. She shouts at him often but not at other learners. When other learners call him ***, she tells him to keep quiet instead of addressing the bullying. Our son once came home smelling of urine because the teacher refused to let him go to the bathroom and he ended up messing himself. The Head of Department ( Mrs Priscilla van Niekerk) also humiliated him in front of other learners, telling him to go to another school and that she would “fire him” from hers. Now he has been told he will not go on the school trip, even though I submitted the form on time. The school shows clear signs of ****** and hides it behind excuses about child behavior. Parents should be aware of how unfairly and harshly some children are treated here. It is very sad because this school was suitable for our son, and now the teachers are making it hard for him to flourish at school. The harsh treatment and words from these teachers are uncalled for. The school fees is very expensive for our child to be treated like this.

Terrible, terrible school. Will leave your child traumatised. 4 Maths teachers in 1 year will leave your child with a huge setback. Teachers calling young 12 year old ****s. Bullying to the extreme and if your child stands up to it she is called a bully.. If you choose to remove your child from the school for their mental and physical safety at the end of the year, make sure you give a term notice or you will have to pay a terms notice even if your child is not in the school anymore.

I was so impressed with the marketing of this school, small classes, what they offer and obviously it's CURRO. My child attended other curro schools and I was always happy. In the first 2 weeks I was told my child should actually go back a grade and he was wrongly placed. I explained that my child is seeing an OT and the previous schoold accomodated him by incorporating recommendations from the specialist within this classroom. It was then clear they do not want children that is not A students. I even took him for another assessment which costs me money not once did they consider that assessments and see how they can assist in the classroom. I complained about bullying whereby the other kids make my child feel that he doesn't belong there, he is not as clever as them. Instead of addressing it they went to find cases against him. During the 2 ND term my child had a breakdown saying he is not clever as the peers and hate school. I then decided to look for other schools because they instilled anxiousness within him, affected my child's self esteem and confidence. During a meeting with the teachers I was informed that they were aware that children would question my child's capabilities and they would just address with the kids and not consider that as bullying. They contributed to my son's anxiety. I have advice for parents considering this school, if your child is not performing academically well and not an A student do not consider this school. I recommended that the school use that in their marketing posts as well.

We experienced a lot of trauma from this school's foundation phase (Grade R). The school sells itself as one that will be able to cater to kids that need a little extra attention but in truth, they cannot. In our case, I felt the school (principal and teacher) lacked patience with my son. They called us with complaints on the 1st day of him attending the school, did not even give him a period of adjusting. After that, it was calls everyday till we decided to give my son a break from them. We tried to come up with solutions to assist my son in class but they were not willing to try and made us feel that we weren't doing enough. They even wanted to issue him with a warning. Who gives a 5 year old, a written warning? That is when we decided to take him out of the school. We have found him another school and he is thriving. He loves it. This is why I decided to write this review. I dont think they realised how much being told that there is something wrong at school traumatises a parent and a child. I cannot emphasise enough how much they lack patience. To a point, I felt they had an agenda to make him leave the school because my son is so well behaved in his new school. I will not fault Northriding College academically, they have a good curriculum. I was happy with my son's school work but the environment was just not good for him and us.

I was so happy when my child joined this school in Jan 2021. But only to find out that I made the biggest mistake of my life. My child felt so academically excluded, unsupported and demoralised and some teachers are pretentious. Due to poor interventions I couldn't keep my child more than a quarter. The school culture is HORRIBLE and DISASTEROUS towards children's growth & development. Some teachers are not well mannered and defensive. As a result, I had to confront one of the teacher who contemptuously gave negative feedback about my child's academic performance and personality in public space. This school still holds that rigid 'Afrikane mentality' and not fully receptive towards other cultural group. VERY VERY BAD SCHOOL CULTURE!!!! Starting from the Head of School, there is a defensive attitude towards a positive feedback. THIS IS A BAD SCHOOL BRANCH, DON'T TRY THIS SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD!!!

It was in 2016 when we went to enquire about school fees at Northriding College for my 2 children, after we were informed about their fees the lady at reception said inorder for them to secure space for our kids we'll need to fill in a registration form, which we did. Fast forward to today we are now being sued for unpaid school fees and our children never set foot to that school. Please help.

I went to the school in Dec 2017 and was given forms and they assured me that there is space for my daughter. I paid their 3900 fee for admissions and waited for their respond. The school did not confirm my child admission to the school. They never communicated with me at all. Then out of frustration I looked for another school for my baby then requested the refunded me. I called the school and I was told that the money is in their suspense account and they will get it released and start processing my refund. Few days after the lady assisting me Monique sent me an email saying that I have been billed and attached a statement. How was I billed when the school did not confirm acceptance of my daughter. When was she accepted and who did they inform of the acceptance. And why was I only billed when I inquired. This school is truly not what the say it is. I would say take your child to Nova pioneer parents.

On the 5th of December (Saturday) i met with the school principal and some members of staff during an open day. I was assured a place and enrolled my son for grade 1 and was given a welcome pack and advised to make payment and start going through the welcome pack to get the necessary supplies for schools opening.

I paid the deposit on the 7th of December (Monday) morning, which was discounted by the school to R1600 because i had enrolled during the open day only to be told later that day that there was no longer any place available. I requested a re-fund as the reason for the deposit was to enroll on the place which had been reserved for us, as had been promised on Saturday. And seeing as this had been withdrawn the school was in effect in breach of said agreement.

I was promised a re-fund but the school proceeded to employ a combination of delay tactics until last week Friday (15 January 2016) when i was informed that there was a place for him and should i not take it up then the deposit became non-refundable, we want our re-fund as the school got our deposit under false pretence.
