WARNING : Do not use One Stop Movers!
One Stop Movers recently moved my furniture from JHB to Cape Town. The goods where collected on the 18th of December 2018 and we were promised that delivery would take place on the 24th of December 2018. Once the move was collected we where informed that the move would not be delivered unless we pay a further R1500.00, this after we inquired if we would be charged extra while the load was taking place. We then paid the extra R1500.00 and the move was paid in full before the load was sent to Cape Town for delivery.
The delivery date came and went, it took endless following up with One Stop Movers to get a delivery date from them. I returned to work on the 4th of January 2019 and I advised One Stop Movers that I am unable to take leave on short notice and had to take unpaid leave to receive the delivery that only took place on the 11th of January 2019, I then had to pay an extra R1200.00 for storage because I was unable to take leave for the 10th of January 2019 when they informed me that they will deliver. This was sent on mail and they did not confirm if this was in order with me before making the arrangements. I had specifically arranged my leave in December so that I would be available for delivery on the 24th of December 2018 to take place. After they advised that the move would arrive on Saturday the 12th of January 2019, I was informed on the 11th of January 2019 that the truck will offload on the 11th at 4:00 pm and if I was not available I could go and collect my goods myself from the warehouse the truck only arrived there at 6:00 pm that night.
When the move finally arrived on the 11th of January 2019, the following items where missing , 3 seater brown couch, candel stands, credenza bottom cupboard, queen size extra length base and matters , boxes, white antique dressing table, wooden towel rial, small wooden table and dustbin.
After I complained on the 14th of January 2019 and requested an explanation. I was told these Items where still in Bloemfontein! Later on the 14th of January 2019 I was informed that the rest of my goods would be delivered and I had to request that I could leave work yet again to receive delivery when they inform me that the truck will be at my house in and hour.
Upon delivery my expensive furniture was scratched and dented. Some of the boxes have tears in them and my couches have been stained from people walking on it. I have yellow boot prints all over my couches. I have pictures of all the damages and emails to prove all of the above.
The truck arrived and still Items are missing and I have now been informed that One Stop Movers will let me know when the rest of my Items would arrive.
I cannot believe that a company can operate like this . The amount of money, damage and inconvenience this company has cost me with the move has left me speechless. I have never dealt with such bad service in my life and work as a service delivery coordinator.
I am posting here to warn people from using One Stop Movers they are unprofessional and dishonest.
I will take this matter further as I feel that they have swindled enough people and most probably get away with it. I have still not received a delivery date for the outstanding Items and I have requested that they log a claim with their insurance with regard to the damages. I am still awaiting a response from One Stop Movers.
