People dont buy a bait boat from Nos Minnaar. His boats dont work and when he must repair it he got a lot of excuses. He claims a life long warranty but when he must fix it you have to wait weeks because he dont have money to buy the spares needed to do repairs. Dont buy from him. You will waste your money.

Dear friends from the fishing/angling community. I have to warn you against buying any bait boat from Optus Bait Boats. I bought one of these bait boats 18 months ago and had many problems since the first day I took it to the waters having high hopes of success. I am not going to continue explaining all the problems with this purchase which I absolutely regret. It has cost me probably close to R10 000 in additional to the initial purchase price, just to see if I could get it to give me some reasonable fishing experience. Recently the prop shaft became very sticky and noisy, secondly the spinner function for delivering of fish bait in the water stopped functioning, if that was not enough the rudder steering stopped functioning meaning I cannot dare to take the bait boat to any waters because I won't be able to steer the boat back to me, and might see my boat just continuing going straight away from me. I then made contact with two bait boat repair services who informed me as follows; The received many calls from anglers who bought the same the very same bait boat from Optus Bait boats having the very same problems I have been experiencing. The second repair service I consulted furthermore said the cause of the problems are: the Optus bait boat has a substandard drive shaft mechanism which is mounted on rubber that wears out, having no form of lubrication; the steering mechanism is of poor design that have the tendency of becoming sticky soon, causing the electric circuit to overstrain and burn out within a short period of time. The repair services further responder that they were not prepared to try and repair my Optus Bait boat, since no repairs thereto would provide me with a reliable bait boat. The consequences now is: I have to s**** the Optus Bait boat that already cost me a substantial amount of money, and buy a new little boat from another supplier. I cannot take the risk of taking my non-operational Optus Bait boat back to the supplier Nos Minnaar, because he already cheated me badly when I took the boat back to him at already four instances in the past. In a previous instance when I asked to replace the previous electric motor with a improved brushless motor, he installed a old motor into my boat, which burnt out at the first instance that I went for fishing. I was then informed by other people that were also cheated by Nos Minnaar, that when you would dare taking you bait boat back to him for repairs, he would remove good parts from your boat and install them into newly ordered boats, and replace your parts with old parts. I also was told that several clients that Nos Minnaar tricked like he tricked me, lodged civil cases against him. I currently don't know if any of the civil claims against him were successful. In essence knowing what legal principles apply to defeat of character, I have to warn you people out there, DO NOT buy any bait boat from Optus Bait Boats, Nos Minnaar, you will certainly regret it. What I even find more disgraceful about this man Nos Minnaar, when meeting him he is quite quick in bringing you to an understanding what good and active Christian he is, but his business dealings selling the bait boats to misinformed and innocent buyers are in my opinion equivalent to coming from a totally dishonest person. I am sure if you would do some enquiries and talk to some of his previous clients of Nos Minnaar before placing you order with him, you will hear that my last remark reflects a commonly known fact about this individual.

I bought a bait boat from Nos Minnaar, it gave me endless problems from the first time I went for fishing. Not knowing what crook he was, I took the boat back to him and even paid him another R3000,00 to do an upgrade. The first time I took the upgraded boat to the water, it went "dead" 80 meters in the dam, I had to swim it out. I recently took the boat to another bait boat repairer who informed me: Nos Minnaar installed a totally undersized motor in my boat, not suitable for bait boats but a motor that is a quarter of the correct size and power - used in smaller and lighter radio control cars, he also installed a totally undersized speed control. Furthermore the radio control is not communicating with the boat, the connection goes down soon as the boat reaches a distance of 50 meters from the radio control - the reason being - Nos has cut radio received terminals inside the boat shorter than it should be - my current repairer says he cannot understand why the terminals were cut off. Please people, you will regret should you order any bait boat from this man, he is a dishonest person and crook. To make it worse for me: he is quick to tell you that he is a Christian and actively involved with his church - to improve, polish his own image and dishonest nature - he is abusing the Kingdom of Christianity - he is a disgrace. Buy your bait boat somewhere else, never from Nos Minnaar, you will regret if you do as I regret. After I paid Nos Minnaar R17000,00 cash for my boat, it is costing me now another R3500,00 to have the under specification components installed by him replaced.

Please be very careful of Nos and his bait boats. He is a scammer who will take your money. I bought a bait boat with a fish finder from him and and experienced endless problems with him and the bait boat right from the start. Right from the start he provided no written quotation, nor any invoice for the 505 deposit I paid upfront. The very first time I tried to use the bait boat it packed up and I had to swim to recover it. Ultimately he provided a new boat with a brushless motor after I paid for the upgrade up-front. Needless to say the first time I tried to use this boat it also packed up within the first ten minutes, again I had to swim it out from the dam. I need the boat to be repaired won't won't dare taking it back to Nos, I will will rather pay a reliable person to do the repairs. You will certainly regret it should you decide to order a bait boat from Nos.
