Lake Eland Game Reserve administers the SUSPENSION BRIDGE at Oribi Gorge. The Organization [ if u can call it that ] have an updated website promising all manner of experiences and fun . Indeed that's all it is " A promise " On 8 th May 2025 , my wife and I made our way to Oribi to experience the walk on the suspension bridge . We paid the entrance fees and made our way to the Bridge , only to he told that the Bridge is under maintenance for 4 to 5 hours . We left the area in disgust and disappointment . What a waste of time , money and energy. The following day I registered a complaint on their website about the incident . A response was received the following day advising that they will revert as soon as they speak to their manager . It's now gone 2 months and there is deafening silence . Does one want to visit a place like this with zero accountability and unprofessionalism . The answer is a RESOUNDING NO.

We had an exceptional experience in December 2020 such that we decided to book for a second visit in July 2021. Unfortunately, on the booked date, our car broke down. We informed Lake Eland that we would be late as we were trying to fix the car. The mechanic tried to fix the car for several hours with no success. We then requested for a postponement as the car issue was beyond our control. We were informed that all our money will forfeit. We were not cancelling and the situation was unforeseeable. 100% of accommodation fee forfeited just like that. Is this the right way to do business?

I have seen on their facebook page that they advertise a 2 bed chalet for R500 per night from May to August (calling it their Winter Special.) I wanted to book from the 12 to the 16th of July. But now they want to charge me R1000 a night. So I took a picture and forwarded it to them via messenger on facebook as well as to their email address asking that the Manager have a look. By right I feel they should give it to me at R500 a night, because this is how they advertised it. Please advice how I can take it further. Maybe to a onbudsman?

What a fabulous experience... arrived at Lake Eland and expected the same level of service whe have gotten accustomed to in South Africa. Yet, this gem of a place was different. From the restaurant (well priced) to the facilities to the zip lining experience was top class....!!! Well done, i will certainly return

I'm extremely disappointed and angry from such poor service from you guys. Hubby n I booked a weekend away for this coming weekend 06/03 till 08/03. We have paid in full but last week we received an email notifying us that oribi is under liquidation and the hotel is closed. What about OUR plans? When we phone the hotel for insight on what going to happen to our reservation all calls are on voicemail. Can we have our money back or rebook us in the other oribi hotels

We paid for a deposit for camping site and later found out that we are no longer able to travel on the booked dates, we requested Lake Eland to do a refund for us. We found out that they deposited the refund into an incorrect bank, we gave them the correct details on the previous emails. What is upsetting is the time frame it has taken them to give us our refund. On the 03.09.2019 I requested for them to follow up, there is no money since.

I sustained a concussion at Oribi Gorge while ziplining. The injury was due to the gross negligence of the instructors in not telling us how to break and also instructing me to proceed while there was another person on the zip line. An incident report was filed by one of the staff and I was told I'd be refunded and reimbursed for the medical expenses I've incurred. This happened on the 2nd Jan and its been two months now with no recourse. I keep getting the run-around from the receptionist and the manager isn't responding to my emails.
