Our encounter with Outeniqua Solar, endorsed by FOGI, has been nothing short of exasperating. Shortly after they installed our geyser, the accompanying solar panel malfunctioned just a day later, jeopardizing the entire solar system and causing our pump to malfunction. Even more astonishing, after reporting the pump issue, they audaciously requested an additional R500 fee, as per FOGI's guidance, despite our previous excess payment. Shockingly, their negligence did not end there. We discovered they had left their waste, including food packets, in our ceiling. And despite all our efforts in repairs, we were met with another challenge - a leaking stop **** they had installed. It became evident that they had fitted a faulty piece. Our concerns intensified when, despite our urgent situation of having a newborn without water at home, we were casually advised by Cindy to "take it up with our insurance." This led to a second claim merely to rectify their flawed installation. The real surprise was when we, unfortunately, had to engage them again after our geyser malfunctioned for the second time within a couple of years. Though they initiated the replacement, they left the job incomplete. Months of attempting to reach them yielded no results. Astonishingly, they've now lodged ANOTHER claim with the geyser provider, essentially to rectify their own incomplete work from the initial claim. It's deeply unsettling to witness such practices. It raises questions about their integrity and suggests an exploitative approach to business. Future customers, tread cautiously.

I'm appalled and frustrated by our experience with Outeniqua Plumbers also operating as solar, recommended by FOGI. First, after installing our geyser, the solar panel they fitted short-circuited a mere day later. This not only damaged the solar system but also caused our pump to break. To make matters worse, when they were informed about the broken pump, they demanded another R500 on FOGI's advice, despite us already paying an excess fee. Unbelievably, they also left their trash, including food wrappers, inside our ceiling. After investing time and money in repairs, painting, and more, things didn't end there. We woke up one morning to find one of the stop ****s they had installed leaking profusely in our ceiling. Turns out, it was a faulty stop **** they fitted! When we reached out to address these unacceptable issues, especially given the urgency of having a one-week-old baby at home without water, Cindy's response was simply to advise us to "launch this with our insurance." It seems like we are now on the hook for another excess fee, just to get them to fix their shoddy work. How is it possible for so many things to go wrong at once? It feels like a dubious money-making scheme at the expense of unsuspecting customers. Beware!

We purchased a UPS System from Outeniqua Solar for R10 000.00, based on the great service we would receive of a full back-up support. It did not take long for the unit to present issues with the charging of the UPS, and eventually it stopped charging . We took the unit back to Outeniqua Solar for the "back up support" & service they had offered in November 2016. We spent almost every week calling to establish what was happening with the unit, and when it would be returned. To date the 18th September we have been given various excuses such as - Their business partner left the Business The factory is no longer able to assist The UPS unit was in for repairs in Johannesburg The UPS unit is no longer repairable, and will cost more to fix than its worth We have not received a quote, or been told what's wrong with the unit. Not once in the 10 months of the unit being dropped off at Outeniqua Solar has Cindy or Fanie de Jager picked up the phone, sent an email or an sms to try and fix the problem. This is by far the worst service we have received & we will not hesitate to take the matter further. Neil & Laurell Pelser
